Striking face for a golf club head

A golf club head having a laser-generated features to create contrast on the club face of the golf club head. The club face includes a central region, a toe region, and a heel region. The central region includes a first plurality of laser-generated features that provide a height-intersection coverage of the central region, a width-intersection coverage of the central region, and a surface-area coverage of the central region. The toe region includes a second plurality of laser-generated features that provide a height-intersection coverage of the toe region, a width-intersection coverage of the toe region, and a surface-area coverage of the toe region. The heel region includes a third plurality of laser-generated features that provide a height-intersection coverage of the heel region, a width-intersection coverage of the heel region, and a surface-area coverage of the heel region.

Laser-contrasted golf club head and manufacturing process

A golf club head having a laser-generated features to create contrast on the club face of the golf club head. The club face includes a central region, a toe region, and a heel region. The central region includes a first plurality of laser-generated features that provide a height-intersection coverage of the central region, a width-intersection coverage of the central region, and a surface-area coverage of the central region. The laser-generated features increase the surface roughness value of the external surface of the club face by imparting micro-grooves that have an average groove depths of between about 45 μm and about 60 μm.

Laser contrasted golf club head and manufacturing process

A golf club head that is capable of preserving the metallic acoustic signature of an entirely metallic golf club head all while utilizing a lightweight composite material is disclosed herein. More specifically, the golf club head in accordance with the present invention creates a frontal acoustic chamber in conjunction with a rear weight saving chamber via a panel member barrier is disclosed. The panel member may even be combined with an optimized thickness relationship at the transition region between the striking face portion and the panel member to further optimize the performance of the golf club head.

A golf club head including a striking face, a sole extending aft from the striking face, a crown extending aft from the striking face, a skirt extending between the sole and the crown, an interior cavity defined by the striking face, the sole, the crown, and the skirt, an aperture formed through the sole, the aperture having an aperture length and an aperture width, wherein the aperture length is substantially larger than the aperture width, and a stiffening member affixed to the sole, wherein a portion of the stiffening member resides within the aperture, wherein the sole is constructed of a first material having a first density, the stiffening member is constructed of a second material having a second density, and wherein the second density is at least 30% less than the first density.

A golf club head including a weight mount disposed on the sole, a weight member configured to reside in the weight mount, a compressible member residing between the weight member and the weight mount, wherein the weight member comprises a longitudinal axis about which the weight member is configured to rotate, the weight member comprising projections extending radially outwards from the longitudinal axis, wherein the weight mount comprises circumferential ramps, wherein rotation of the weight member about the longitudinal axis forces the projections along the circumferential ramps, wherein the weight member goes from an unlocked position to a locked position in less than one full turn of the weight member relative to the weight mount, wherein rotation of the weight member compresses the compressible member, wherein the circumferential ramps comprise detents, wherein the projections are configured to reside in the detents when the weight member is in the locked position.

Golf club having removeable weight

A golf club head includes a body having an outer surface with a recessed channel formed therein. A weight assembly that includes a weight at least partially disposed within the recessed channel, a cover extending over the recessed channel, and a fastener coupling the cover to the body. The fastener is adapted to retain the weight in the recessed channel only indirectly by the cover. The weight assembly is selectively positionable between at least three configurations: a first configuration where the weight is secured within the recessed channel; a second configuration where the weight is slidable within the recessed channel; and a third configuration where the weight is completely removable from the golf club head. The cover is coupled to the body in all three configurations.
