Low beam headlight that can be obtained with small installation length and high light/energy output are described. A light source arrangement is provided, which generates a light cone of light that is less divergent in a first transverse direction than in a second transverse direction perpendicular to the first transverse direction, and this light source arrangement is used to illuminate three lens arrays arranged next to one another along the second transverse direction, which are thus each irradiated on the input side by an associated one among segments of the light cone arranged next to one another in the second transverse direction and output low beam on the output side with a luminous intensity angle distribution modified with respect to the light cone.

Low beam headlight

High beam headlight that can be produced with a small installation length with high efficiency and also provide effective low-cost manufacturability are described. For this purpose, a light source array having a plurality of light sources is combined with a honeycomb condenser. A collimator connected between the honeycomb condenser and the light source array illuminates the honeycomb condenser with collimated light of the plurality of light sources of the light source array. The arrangement of the components is such that the collimated light from a first light source leads to crosstalk-free irradiation of the honeycomb condenser and illumination of a first far-field segment. For each of the at least one second light source of the light source array, the collimated light of the respective second light source leads to irradiation of the honeycomb condenser with channel crosstalk and an illumination of a second far-field segment oriented obliquely with the first far-field segment.

High beam headlight

Optical beam former for generating an emerging light beam from an incident light beam, the optical beam former including: a condenser lens array including several condenser lenses; and a projection lens array arranged in parallel to the condenser lens array and including several projection lenses; wherein exactly one of the projection lenses is assigned to each of the condenser lenses so that several optical channels are formed and so that each of the several optical channels generates a partial light beam of the emerging light beam, said partial light beam emerging in an angle-of-emergence range with a partial intensity distribution that is homogenous with respect to an angle of emergence, from an incident partial light beam, wherein the admissible angle-of-incidence ranges of the optical channels have the same size as to the magnitude in a plane extending in parallel to the optical axes of the condenser lenses; and wherein the angle-of-emergence ranges of at least two of the optical channels are different so that an intensity distribution with respect to the angle of emergence includes several regions having a homogenous intensity in a far field of the emerging light beam.
