A voltage converter that receives at input a primary DC voltage that is variable over a wide voltage range and that supplies at output a regulated first secondary DC voltage and an unregulated second secondary DC voltage, including a buck converter with inductors coupled to two outputs, it also includes a boost converter arranged upstream of the buck converter and able to boost the primary voltage when activated, and a charge pump module arranged between the second secondary voltage and the first secondary voltage and able to balance the charges when activated, the boost converter and the charge pump module being activated simultaneously.

Disclosed is a method for regulating the output voltage of a DC-to-DC voltage converter of a motor vehicle engine control computer. A method for controlling a voltage step-down converter () including an inductive component (), one terminal of which is connected to an electrical source () via a regulating switch (), while its other terminal is connected to a capacitive component (), the output of the voltage step-down converter being regulated by alternating connection intervals, during which the regulating switch is in an on state, with disconnection intervals, during which the regulating switch is in an off state, the regulating switch being switched from the on state to the off state when the value of the output voltage reaches a disconnection threshold. The disconnection threshold has a variable value which decreases progressively, during each connection interval, from a maximum value of the disconnection threshold.

Method for controlling a DC/DC voltage step-down converter

A device and switching method for a circuit for generating an output voltage (Vout) via a control signal (CTRL) with two pulse-width modulated states are described. The control signal (CTRL) frequency (Fq) is measured. In order to generate the control signal (CTRL), either a first hysteresis comparator () or a second hysteresis comparator () is enabled depending on the control signal (CTRL) measured frequency (Fq). Advantageously, the voltage thresholds of the hysteresis comparators and at least one frequency threshold can be chosen in such a manner as to avoid the control signal (CTRL) frequency (Fq) entering into forbidden frequency bands.
