Electrical cable comprising at least one electrically insulating layer

The present invention relates to an electrical control cable of the type comprising a core having a plurality of polymer filaments, a plurality of strands of conductor material extending in the longitudinal direction of said core, an outer insulating sheath. According to the invention, said strands are distributed uniformly and concentrically over the periphery of said core, in contact with one another in pairs and in contact with said core, and the filaments of said core are secured to one another to form a non-metallic unitary structure that is obtained by organizing said filaments into a plurality of subassemblies, the filaments in any one subassembly being twisted together helically, the subassemblies in turn being twisted with one another to form an overall helix. Advantage: the cable uses a limited number of copper strands while guaranteeing that crimping operations are reliable.

Electrical control cable

A strand of section of no more than 0.35 mmis provided having one or more electrical conductor wires, where each electrical conductor wire is constituted by an alloy of copper and tin. The tin content is not less than 1500 ppm and not more than 2500 ppm the oxygen content is not more than 400 ppm the inevitable impurities content is not more than 100 ppm and the balance of the content of the alloy is copper with the electrical conductor wire(s) being exempt from heat treatment during fabrication of the strand.

A composite control cable has a polymer core and a plurality of strands of electrically conductive material extending in the longitudinal direction of the cable around said core. The polymer is selected from polymers presenting elongation at break that is greater than 7%, and traction strength such that the resultant traction strength of the cable is greater than a predetermined limit value.
