The invention pertains to a method for manufacturing a three-dimensional object with an additive manufacturing system, such as an extrusion-based additive manufacturing system, a selective laser sintering system, and/or an electrophotography-based additive manufacturing system, comprising providing a support material comprising more than 50% wt. of a semi-crystalline polyamide [polyamide (A)] having a melting point, as determined according to ASTM D3418, of at least 250° C. and possessing a water absorption at saturation, by immersion in water at 23° C., of at least 2% wt.

Method for manufacturing a three-dimensional object

A process for preparing particles of polyphenylene sulfide polymer (PPS), based on the use of a polyester polymer (PE) comprising units from a dicarboxylic acid component and a diol component, wherein at least 2 mol. % of the diol component is a poly(alkylene glycol). The process comprises the melt-blending of the PPS with the PE, the cooling the blend and the recovery of the particles by dissolution of the PE into water. The present invention relates to PPS particles obtained therefrom and to the use of these particles in SLS 3D printing, coatings and toughening of thermoset resins.

Photocurable polymers, photocurable polymer compositions and lithographic processes including the same

Described here are blocky PEEK copolymers and corresponding synthesis methods. It was surprisingly found that synthesis of blocky PEEK copolymers in a non-solvent environment with respect to PEEK produced blocky PEEK copolymers with high degrees of functionalization and crystallinity. The blocky PEEK copolymers had an increased blocky structure, relative to corresponding PEEK copolymer synthesized with other known methods. Moreover, membranes formed from the blocky PEEK polymers are particularly desirable in fuel cell applications. For example, the membranes formed from the blocky PEEK polymers had surprisingly large ion conductivities as well as significantly improved chemical and thermal resistance, at least in part, to the improved functionalization and crystallinity.

Described herein are methods for making poly(aryl ether sulfone) ('PAES') polymers and polymer compositions including the PAES polymers. The method includes reacting a first monomer and a second monomer in a reaction mixture including a base. In some embodiments, the first monomer, second monomer and base can be selected such that halogen salts are not formed during the reacting. In some embodiments, the method can also be a solvent free process. The PAES polymer and polymer compositions can be desirable in many application settings including, but not limited to, electronic components.

Filled composition containing polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) and polyamide 6 (PA6)

Described herein are polyamide polymer blends including a sulfonated polyamide polymer, an aromatic polyamide polymer and a reinforcing filler. Optionally, the polyamide polymer blend includes an additive. It was surprisingly discovered that blends including a sulfonated polyamide polymer in addition to an aromatic polyamide polymer had increased mechanical performance, relative to corresponding polyamide polymer blends having a non-sulfonated polyamide polymer. Furthermore, it was also surprisingly discovered that, when the sulfonated polyamide polymer included a sodium counter-ion, the mechanical performance of the polyamide polymer blend was further enhanced, relative to corresponding polyamide polymer blends having a sulfonated polyamide polymer including a lithium counter-ion in place of a sodium counter-ion. Due, at least in part, to the increased mechanical performance, the polyamide polymer blends can be desirably incorporated into structural components, which generally benefit from higher mechanical performance.
