In a device for regulating the idling speed of an internal combustion engine by varying the feed by means of an electromechanical setting member which is provided with electromagnetic means developed as solenoid with at least one coil (spaces 14, 15; 36, 37), with ferromagnetic parts which conduct magnetic flux (cylindrical return sleeves 1, 19, 20), with at least one core (12, 13; 23) which can be influenced by the flux and with a magnetic flux-conducting element (push rod 9, 31) which is connected to the core, means are provided in order to set the valve element, when the excitation of the coils is interrupted, in an idling position of medium rate of flow of air. In order to maintain the structural expense for these means small and to obtain linearization of the normal manner of operation of the device with a large useful yield of force, the electromechanical setting member comprises two coils (within frames 14, 15 and 36, 37 respectively). These coils are so connected and acted on by setting currents that they act in directions opposite to each other on the element conducting the magnetic flux (push rod 9 or 31 respectively) by means of at least one core (12, 13 or 23 respectively). The means producing the return force (opposing spring 17 and adjustment spring 19 or opposing spring 32 and adjustment spring 29 respectively) are so developed that when the coils are without current the valve element is brought into a position of medium rate of flow of air.

Device for regulating the idling speed of an internal combustion engine

A valve arrangement for regulating the idling speed of internal combustion engines by controlling the quantity of air on the intake side of an intake manifold 1 leading to the internal combustion engine. The valve arrangement has an electromechanical control member which has a solenoid 7 by which a closure member 4 can be moved, via a control element, in opposition to the force of a return spring 8. The closure member 4 is movable relative to the control element between a position of rest and an operating position and, in the position of rest, is in a well-defined partially open position of the valve passage.

Valve arrangement

An improvement is disclosed for a valve arrangement for adjusting the idling speed of an engine of the type having an intake manifold and a throttle valve in the manifold. In this arrangement there is a bypass of the throttle valve, and an electromechanical setting element and a solenoid connected to a closure member for the bypass via a setting member. A return spring biases the setting member in a closing direction and the solenoid can urge the setting member in an opening direction against the force of the return spring. The closure member is urged in the opening direction by pressure on the admission side of the manifold. This admission side is connected to a chamber having a moveable wall connected to the closure member. In accordance with the improvement the chamber is connected to the intake side of the manifold by a connection which includes a valve which is adapted to close the connection during a control process.

In an arrangement for regulating the idling speed of rotation of an internal combustion engine by influencing the intake by means of an electromagnetic control element, a ferromagnetic actuating element is provided within the field of influence of a solenoid. There also acts on the actuating element an auxiliary spring which moves a valve element against the force of a return spring in order to establish an average rate of flow of air when the solenoid is without current. If the solenoid is acted on by current, the actuating element is moved away from a stop so that the valve element can adjust itself only under the influence of the force of the solenoid and of the return spring.

Arrangement for regulating the idling speed of an internal combustion

A valve arrangement for regulating the idling speed of internal combustion engines by control of the quantity of air on the intake side of an intake manifold 1 leading to the combustion engine. It has an electromagnetic control member which has a solenoid 7 by which a closure member 4 is movable, via a control element, against the force of a return spring 8. A valve 11 which can be opened in the closed position of the closure member 4 is arranged within a connection 10 of given cross section from the inlet side to the outlet side of the closure member 4.

The invention relates to an arrangement for increasing the idling speed of an internal combustion engine, particularly a diesel internal-combustion engine. It has a setting member for controlling the feed of the fuel, the displacement path of said member being adapted to be limited in the direction towards idle by an idle stop and after a starting process, by a start-quantity stop. In order that such an arrangement be of simple construction and be capable of being manufactured inexpensively, the displacement path can be limited by a plurality of start-quantity stops arranged one behind the other in the idling direction, of which, commencing with the starting process, at given time intervals one after the other, the start-quantity stop furthest from the idle stop can be moved out of the path of displacement of the setting member.
