Methods and systems are provided for estimating liability and right of way in an accident. In one embodiment, liability estimation in a vehicle accident may be based on a plurality of characteristics that describe the accident. In addition, right of way estimation in a vehicle accident may be based on the plurality of characteristics that describe the accident. These characteristics may include: the configuration of the roadway, the type of accident, the traffic controls at the vehicle accident scene, and impact points of each vehicle. The characteristics from an actual accident may be compared to those in a past or theoretical accident. Liability may be estimated from a preassigned liability associated with a nearest matching past or theoretical accident. Right of way may be estimated from a predetermined right of way associated with the nearest matching past or theoretical accident. The liability estimate may include a base liability and one or more adjustments due to various factors.

Computerized method and system of determining right of way and liability for an accident

Computer-implemented methods and systems for estimating liability for a vehicle accident are provided. In one embodiment, an actual speed of a vehicle involved in an accident may be estimated. At least one specified speed of a vehicle involved in the accident may be provided to a computer system. In an embodiment, the specified speed may be a speed limit. In other embodiments, the specified speed may be a safe speed of the vehicle involved in an accident. The actual speed may be compared to at least one specified speed. In some embodiments, an effect on liability may be estimated based on the comparison.

Computerized method and system for estimating liability

Computer-implemented methods and systems for estimating liability for a vehicle accident are provided. In one embodiment, the theoretical paths of a straight traveling vehicle and of a turning vehicle may be estimated. In certain embodiments, the turning vehicle may be merging into the same lane as the straight traveling vehicle. The opportunity of at least one vehicle, traveling at a specified speed, to avoid the accident may be assessed. In an embodiment, a contribution to liability to at least one vehicle may be estimated based on the opportunity of the vehicle to avoid the accident.

Computer-implemented methods and systems for estimating liability for a vehicle accident are provided. In one embodiment, a question may be generated on one or more topics relating to the accident. A set of answers corresponding to the question may be provided to the computer system. In an embodiment, the set of answers may include one or more answers obtained from one or more sources. An answer from the set of answers may be selected for use in estimating liability in the accident. The effect of the selected answer on liability may be estimated.

Computerized method and system for estimating liability for an accident from an investigation of the accident

Computer-implemented methods and systems for estimating liability for a vehicle accident are provided. In one embodiment, theoretical paths of a reference vehicle and a reacting vehicle may be estimated. In an embodiment, a reacting vehicle reacts to a danger of an accident with the reference vehicle. The opportunity of the reacting vehicle to avoid the accident may be assessed. In certain embodiments, whether the reacting vehicle had an opportunity to avoid the accident at a specified speed may be assessed. A contribution to liability to the reacting vehicle may be estimated based on the opportunity of the reacting vehicle to avoid the accident.

Computerized method and system for estimating an effect on liability of the speed of vehicles in an accident and time and distance traveled by the vehicles

Computer-implemented methods and systems for estimating liability for a vehicle accident are provided. In one embodiment, a question may be generated on one or more topics relating to the accident. The question may be associated with one or more answers. In some embodiments, at least one answer may be associated with a set of additional questions. An answer associated with a set of additional questions may be selected. In certain embodiments, a set of additional questions associated with the selected answer may be generated dynamically for use in estimating liability for the accident.

Computerized method and system for estimating liability for an accident using dynamic generation of questions

Computer-implemented methods and systems for estimating liability for a vehicle accident are provided. In an embodiment, claim data may be accessed for one or more claims relating to a vehicle accident from a first database on a computer system. In some embodiments, the claim data may be accessed if the claim data is not stored on a second database. In other embodiments, the accessed claim data may be stored on a second database on the computer system. The second database may be associated with a method and system for estimating liability in the vehicle accident. In further embodiments, the stored claim data for one or more of the claims may be accessed on the second database for use by the method and system for estimating liability in the vehicle accident.
