The invention relates to a device for cooling a metering module, in particular a module for metering an operating agent/auxiliary agent such as a reducing agent into the exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine. A cooling device through which a cooling fluid flows is associated with the metering module (). An outer surface () of the metering module () is enclosed by a cooling member () through which the cooling fluid flows. The multi-part cooling member () comprises drainage openings () for discharging () the cooling fluid/for discharging liquids in order to prevent said fluid/liquids from accumulating on the bottom of the cooling member ().

Seal for an exhaust aftertreatment device in an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a dosing module () for injecting a reduction agent, in particular a urea-water solution, into an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine, in particular of a self-igniting internal combustion engine, to reduce nitrogen oxides in the exhaust stream, wherein the dosing module has a main cooling element () through which a cooling liquid flows, in particular for cooling an injection valve () for the reduction agent. According to the invention, an additional cooling element (), through which the cooling liquid likewise flows, in particular for cooling in the region of an electrical plug connection () and of an electromagnet () for actuating the injection valve (), is placed on the basis cooling element (), wherein a guide insert () for the cooling liquid is arranged in the main cooling element (). As a result of the guide insert (), priority cooling of the end section () of the injection valve () which is in direct contact with the hot exhaust stream of the internal combustion engine occurs. According to the invention, reliable operation of the dosing module () is ensured, even at ambient temperatures of 160&#xb0; C. and above.

Dosing module

The invention relates to a dosing module () for metering a reducing agent into an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine. Said dosing module () comprises at least one cooling member () through which a cooling fluid flows that is used to cool the internal combustion engine. An electric contact () is located in the top region of the dosing module (). The dosing module () is enclosed in a full housing () that comprises an upper and a lower cooling member () through which a directed cooling fluid stream () flows that runs from the valve tip region () in the direction of the electric contact ().

Water-cooled dosing module

The present invention relates to a method for operating an electromagnetically controllable metering valve, which is disposed in an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine. For a metering of reducing agent in the exhaust gas system, the metering valve is actuated by a control and/or regulating device via an electromechanical drive unit with a first current profile, which includes a holding current phase having a first holding current level when said metering valve is open. Said metering valve and the drive unit are part of a metering module. When the internal combustion engine is switched off, said metering valve is actuated via said drive unit with a second current profile, which has a second holding current level that is increased with respect to the first holding current level. An independent claim relates to a control device set up to carry out the method.
