A method by which optical filter structures may be applied onto a substrate that is transparent to light at least in the visible wavelength range suitable for a barrier filter. In such a method, an adhesive is applied onto the substrate; then, a photographic film comprising a base film and a photographic emulsion layer applied on it is brought into contact with the adhesive. The optical filter structures are impressed in the photographic emulsion layer by exposure, development and fixation. The side of the film brought into contact with the adhesive is the one that bears the photographic emulsion layer. The adhesive is then spread between film and substrate by means of a roller rolling across the film at a specified contact pressure and a specified feed rate of the roller and thus pressing the film against the substrate. A permanent joint between substrate and photographic emulsion layer is then established by the curing of the adhesive. In a further step, the base film may be thermally separated and removed from the photographic emulsion layer.

Method for applying optical filter structures onto a carrier substrate

The invention relates to a method for orienting an optical element (e. g. a parallax barrier screen or lenticular screen) on a screen comprising pixels x(i, j) in a raster composed of lines (i) and columns (j) in order to produce a screen for three-dimensional representation. In said method, especially a test pattern is presented which consists of various views A(k), wherein k=1, . . . , n, and n&#x3e;1. The test pattern comprises at least two first straight lines that are located in different horizontal positions in the n&#x3e;1 views A(k) as well as at least two second straight lines which each extend parallel to one of the first straight lines and are located in at least the same horizontal positions in the n&#x3e;1 views A(k). The method according to the invention can be carried out quickly and with high accuracy and is therefore suitable for industrial use to produce screens for three-dimensional representation.

Method for orienting an optical element on a screen

The invention relates to arrangements for spatial display, and in particular to such arrangements that, by means of wavelength or gray level filter arrays, present an image visible in three dimensions to one or several observers without the use of auxiliary aids such as glasses. In such arrangements, an increased brightness of the 3D display is achieved by means of the arrangement of transparent filters on the filter array according to the invention.

Method and apparatus for spatial display using a rasterized imaging device and an array of filter elements

The invention relates to an autostereoscopic projection arrangement, comprising at least one projector () and at least one filter array (F, F), which has a multitude of filter elements arranged in columns and rows, in which arrangement bits of partial information from views of a scene or object are projected by the projector/the projectors () onto a projection screen (), where these bits of partial information are rendered on image rendering elements and, having passed one or several of the filter arrays (F, F), are made visible to at least one observer (), and in which, as regards the propagation direction of the bits of partial information, the image rendering elements correspond with correlated filter elements in such a way that an observer () will see predominantly bits of partial information from a first selection of views with one eye and predominantly bits of partial information from a second selection of views with the other eye, and thus will have a spatial impression.

Autostereoscopic projection system

A method for the orientation of a parallax barrier screen on a display screen with pixels x(ij) in a pattern of rows (i) and columns (j) for the production of a display screen for three-dimensional representation. Particularly, a test image is presented comprising various views A(k) where k=1, . . . , n and n=6 or n=7, wherein the test image comprises at least two first straight lines having two different directions of extension from one another, said lines being disposed in different horizontal positions in the n=6 or n=7 views A(k), wherein the test image comprises at least two second straight lines that are each oriented parallel to one of the first straight lines and that are disposed at least at the same horizontal positions in the n=6 or n=7 views A(k). The method according to the invention may be performed quickly and with a high degree of accuracy and is therefore suitable for industrial use for the production of display screens for three-dimensional representation.
