A system and method for stabilizing a motor vehicle. The system includes a speed sensor for sensing a longitudinal speed and a transversal speed of the motor vehicle. The system also includes a calculation unit designed to calculate an attitude angle of the motor vehicle from the longitudinal speed and the transversal speed. The system also includes an evaluation unit designed to compare the attitude angle with a threshold value and to detect an oversteering situation if the attitude angle exceeds the threshold value. The system also includes an actuation unit which influences the driving behavior of the motor vehicle. The actuation unit is designed to actuate an actuator in an oversteering situation.

System and method for stabilizing a motor vehicle

A method is presented for recognizing traffic-related information (I) in a driving motor vehicle, in which sensor data (B) from a sensor and map data (K) from a navigation system are interpreted for recognition purposes, wherein the sensor data (B) is inspected in a first scene interpretation for the presence of traffic-related information (I) and is compacted to relevant sensor data (B), the map data (K) is inspected in a second scene interpretation for the presence of traffic-related information (I) and is compacted to relevant map data (K), and the relevant sensor data (B) and relevant map data (K) is fed to a regulator for interpreting the sensor and map data, wherein the regulator evaluates the sensor data (B) and the map data (K) and then issues an output signal which corresponds to the evaluation.

Method and device for identifying traffic-relevant information

A sensor device for detecting a motion state of a motor vehicle. The sensor device includes at least one laser unit having a light source for emitting coherent light which is transmitted in the direction of a roadway surface, and an interference detector which is designed to detect at least one measurement variable which characterizes interference between the light scattered at the surface and the light of the light source. The measurement variable represents a speed component of the sensor device and/or a distance between the sensor device and the roadway surface. The laser unit is coupled to an evaluation device which is designed to determine, from the measurement variable, at least one variable which characterizes the motion state of the vehicle, in particular a speed component of the center of gravity of the vehicle, a rotational angle or a rotation rate of the vehicle.

Sensor device and method for detecting the motion of a vehicle

A device is arranged to carry out a method for identifying traffic-relevant information in a moving vehicle, wherein image data of a visual sensor and map data of a navigation system are each pre-evaluated for the identification and the results of the pre-evaluation are combined and interpreted. The image and map data is scanned for traffic-relevant information and compacted to relevant image and map data in a first and second scene interpretations, and the relevant image and map data is supplied to a rule engine and to a state machine for interpreting the image and map data. Disclosed is a method for detecting a direction of travel in a vehicle with a protection system which avoids accidents. When an object is detected in front of the vehicle in the direction of the vehicle and contact between the vehicle and the object is possible, the method triggers a driver-independent braking and/or steering process to prevent contact with the object.
