A fuel module for pumping and filtration of a fuel in a fuel system includes a flow housing, and each of an electrically powered pump, a first cartridge filter, and a second cartridge filter in sealed, direct engagement with the flow housing. The fuel module is applied in a low pressure fuel circuit feeding fuel to a high pressure fuel circuit for pressurization to an injection pressure. Electronic closed loop control techniques for the pump are also disclosed.

A system includes an ECM configured to control at least one subsystem of a machine, a plurality of sensors communicatively coupled to the ECM, the plurality of sensors configured to sense at least one identification device coupled to a fluid filter associated with the subsystem of the machine. A memory stories instructions that, when executed by the ECM, cause the ECM to cause a sensor of the plurality of sensors to sense the at least one identification device, receive a signal from the sensor based on the sensor sensing the at least one identification device, identify a coupling of the fluid filter to the machine based on the signal; and identify at least one physical characteristic of the fluid filter based on a code defined by electromagnetic energy generated by the at least one identification device. The code includes at least one component defining the at least one physical characteristic.

Systems and methods for part identification

An engine valve actuation system includes a hydro-mechanical valve actuation module having a first hydro-mechanical linkage and a second hydro-mechanical linkage, each within a different housing block of a housing. Each of the first hydro-mechanical linkage and the second hydro-mechanical linkage includes a cam-follower piston in contact with a cam of a camshaft, and a valve-actuation piston hydraulically co-acting with the respective cam-follower piston. The hydro-mechanical valve actuation module may include hydro-mechanical linkages for an intake valve, for an exhaust valve, and for engine braking.

A filter identification system is disclosed. The filter identification system may include an identification component disposed in a filter mount configured to hold a set of filters that includes a first filter and a second filter. The identification component may include a sensor system that may include a first sensor configured to provide a first output signal corresponding to a state of the first sensor, and a second sensor configured to provide a second output signal corresponding to a state of the second sensor. The sensor system may be configured to provide a single output signal that is based on the first output signal and the second output signal and indicates a combined state of the first sensor and the second sensor.

Filter identification

A diverter valve is disclosed for use with a charge air system. The diverter valve may have a plurality of first inlets configured to receive a flow of warmed air, a plurality of second inlets configured to receive a flow of cooled air, and a single outlet. The diverter valve may also have a single valve element movable to any position between a first position at which the plurality of first inlets are fluidly connected to the single outlet and the plurality of second inlets are blocked from the single outlet, and a second position at which the plurality of second inlets are fluidly connected to the single outlet and the plurality of first inlets are blocked from the single outlet.

Diverter valve for charge air system

A multi-paneled cooling module adapted to be mounted to an engine exterior protects electronic components such as sensors and associated wiring from heat loads of the engine and/or other heat generating engine devices. The module is formed of wall and ceiling panels having a relatively high thermal conductivity, such as aluminum. The cooling module, which includes strategically situated integral coolant passages within several of its panels, is adapted to protect all enclosed electronic components, including electronic pressure sensors, an EGR valve, and all associated wiring and wiring harnesses. For example, the sensors, harnesses, and valve components associated with and proximal to an EGR venturi may be fully protected from overheating, in spite of exposure of those components to massive heat loads generated by the venturi. Finally, the cooling module may incorporate additional cooling accommodation for hydraulic oil cooling if, for example, the EGR valve is hydraulically actuated.

Cooling module for electronic engine components

A catalytic converter and muffler including a housing having an inlet disposed between a first end and a second end of the housing to introduce exhaust gases into an inlet chamber. A plurality of first exhaust treatment banks disposed between the inlet and the first end of the housing to allow the exhaust gases flow towards the first end from the inlet chamber into an end chamber. A mixing tube to direct the exhaust gases towards the second end from the end chamber into a flow distributor and a plurality of second exhaust aftertreatment banks and flow into an outlet chamber. At least one resonator chamber defined within the housing to attenuate noise in the exhaust gases.

Catalytic converter and muffler

An exhaust aftertreatment system including a housing with two or more inlets configured to receive separate entering exhaust streams from an engine. The system may include two or more first exhaust treatment devices, each configured to receive one of the separate entering exhaust streams in a first direction. The system may further include two or more redirecting flow passages configured to combine the separate exhaust streams into a merged exhaust stream that flows in a second direction about 180 degrees from the first direction and an intermediate flow region configured to divide the merged exhaust stream into two or more separate exiting exhaust streams. The system also may also includes two or more second exhaust treatment devices, each configured to receive one of the separate exiting exhaust streams in a third direction about 90 degrees from the second direction.

Tank

An aftertreatment module for use with an engine is disclosed. The aftertreatment module may have a plurality of inlets configured to direct exhaust in a first flow direction into the aftertreatment module. The aftertreatment module may also have a mixing duct configured to receive exhaust from the plurality of inlets, and a branching passage in fluid communication with the mixing duct. The branching passage may be configured to redirect exhaust from the mixing duct into separate flows that exit the aftertreatment module in a second flow direction opposite the first flow direction.

A fluid injector for an exhaust treatment system is disclosed. The fluid injector may have a body, a pin member, and a heater. The pin member may be disposed within the body and have a fluid receiving end and a fluid injecting end. The heater may be disposed about the fluid injecting end of the pin member.

A reductant dosing manifold is disclosed. The reductant dosing manifold may have a housing with a pump interface configured to directly connect the reductant dosing manifold to a reductant pump, and a reductant supply passage in fluid communication with the pump interface. The housing may also have a reductant outlet port, and a pressurized reductant passage connecting the pump interface to the reductant outlet port.

A reductant dosing system for a machine having an engine and an exhaust system is disclosed. The reductant dosing system has a tank configured to hold a reductant, a dosing arrangement, and a supply passage connecting the tank to the dosing arrangement. The reductant dosing system also has a purging arrangement configured to direct purge fluid to at least one of the dosing arrangement and the supply passage, and a valve configured to allow reductant to pass from the tank to the supply passage and to inhibit purge fluid from entering the tank.

A turbocharger for a use with a combustion engine is provided. The turbocharger may have a turbine housing with a first volute, a second volute, and a common outlet. The turbocharger may also have a turbine wheel disposed between the common outlet and the first and second volutes. The turbocharger may further have a first valve configured to selectively fluidly communicate the first volute with the second volute upstream of the turbine wheel, a second valve configured to selectively fluidly communicate the second volute with the common outlet to bypass the turbine wheel, and a common actuator configured to move the first and second valves.
