A method for guiding a motor vehicle into a charging position at an inductive charging station. When the charging position is being approached, a control device of the motor vehicle determines a relative position of the motor vehicle with respect to the charging position at least up to a first distance from the charging station by way of a first location-determining device and, starting from a second distance from the charging station up to the charging position by way of a second location-determining device. The control device estimates the relative position at least in a transition region between the first distance and the second distance on the basis of the motor vehicle's own movement, by way of an odometry device.

A method and an apparatus for triggering an emergency shutdown of the inductive charging of a secondary-side component in the form of a motor vehicle by a primary-side component in the form of a charging station, includes a plurality of charging system parts of the secondary-side component. The charging system parts are each configured to interrupt at least one switchable communication channel that connects the charging system parts in order to trigger an emergency shutdown of the inductive charging.

Method and apparatus for triggering an emergency shutdown of the inductive charging of a motor vehicle

A method for determining the absolute position of a vehicle for the close-range positioning of same when the vehicle is being parked is described. An inductive positioning method is performed, wherein a first transmitter in the infrastructure or in the vehicle is excited to generate a positioning magnetic field and a second transmitter in the infrastructure or in the vehicle is excited to generate a positioning signal. The positioning magnetic field and the positioning signal are received by a reception device in the vehicle or in the infrastructure and the received positioning magnetic field and positioning signal are taken as a basis for ascertaining the absolute position of the vehicle. This allows particularly exact parking of the vehicle, in particular of an electrically operated vehicle for inductive charging.

Method and device for determining the absolute position of a vehicle

The present disclosure relates to automobiles and, more specifically, teaches methods and systems that may be used for wirelessly charging batteries used in vehicles. In one embodiment, a method for detecting a relative position between a vehicle-side receiving charging coil and a fixed transmission charging coil, may include: generating an alternating magnetic orientation field using one of the coils; detecting the orientation field using at least one coil provided for inductive excitation, wherein the orientation field is detected in a frequency-selective manner by the at least one coil; and ascertaining the relative position using an orientation receiving signal induced by the orientation field in the at least one coil.

Wireless charging for vehicle batteries

A vehicle-side, electronic charging device of a wireless battery charging system receives, converts and feeds energy into a rechargeable traction battery of an electric vehicle traction motor. The traction battery is charged by an external charging system via a wireless link and the vehicle-side charging device. The vehicle-side charging device includes a first LC resonant circuit between first and second output ports, and a current rectifier having first and second AC voltage inputs and first and second DC voltage outputs. Either (i) the first and second DC voltage outputs of the current rectifier, or (ii) the first and second AC voltage inputs of the current rectifier, or (iii) the first and the second output ports of the first LC resonant circuit, or (iv) a first and a second connection of the reception coil are switchably connected to one another via an actuable kill switch.
