A portable power grinder for operating a wheel type of grinding tool, comprising an output spindle (12) drivingly connected to a rotation motor (11) and provided with a threaded coaxial bore (23) for receiving a grinding tool clamping screw (24) and with a radial support flange (25) for backing the grinding tool when clamped to the output spindle (12). An easily exchangeable tool support element (28) is sandwiched between the grinding tool and the support flange (25) and is provided with a coaxial through opening (30) for the clamping screw (24) and a forwardly directed tubular neck portion (27) for centering cooperation with a corresponding opening in the grinding tool.

A hydraulic torque impulse generator having a drive member (10) with a fluid chamber (12) and an output spindle (11) extending into the fluid chamber (12) and being provided with a movable seal element (19) and an axial seal ridge (22) for cooperation with oppositely disposed axial seal lands (13, 14) in the fluid chamber (12) to, thereby, divide the fluid chamber (12) into one high pressure compartment (H.P.) and one low pressure compartment (L.P.) during a limited angular interval of relative rotation between the drive member (10) and the output spindle (11), and a valve means comprising an elongate contact element (24, 44) which is supported in an axial groove (23, 43) in the seal ridge (22 ), which groove (23, 43) communicates with the high pressure compartment (H.P.) such that the contact element (24, 44) is urged into its sealing condition by the fluid pressure at pressure magnitudes above a certain level. A sealing barrier (27) around the output spindle (11) comprises a clearance seal (33), a low pressure chamber (39) and a spring biassed piston (35) and prevents temperature related pressure variations in the fluid chamber (12).

Hydraulic torque impulse generator having a pressure responsive bypass

A vibration insulated power tool handle, comprising a tubular grip portion (10), a mounting means (11) for rigid mounting on a tool housing, and an elastic vibration insulating leaf spring membrane (12) interconnecting the grip portion (10) and the mounting means (11). The spring membrane (12) is formed with a central opening (19) for receiving a screw (21) of the mounting means (11) and is connected by its periphery to a socket portion (16) on the grip portion (10).

Vibration insulated power tool handle

A vibration damped hand held rotary grinding machine comprising a housing (10) with at least one handle (17, 18), a rotation motor (11), an output shaft (13) drivingly coupled to the motor and having a mounting (14) for attachment of a grinding wheel (15), and a sector-shaped non-resilient safe guard (19) which is rigidly attached to the housing (10) and surrounding partially the grinding wheel (15) and which has an arc-shaped rim portion (20) encircling partially the grinding wheel circumference. A vibration damping inertia device (22; 22a, 22b) is rigidly associated with the safe guard (19) on or adjacent the rim portion (20), such that the center of gravity of substantially all axial plane cross sections through the inertia device (22 22a, 22b) is located at a radius (R.sub.1) of at least 90% of the rim portion (20) radius (R). Preferably, the safe guard (19) is semicircular and th einertia device (22; 22a, 22 b) extends from both ends of the safe guard rim portion (20).
