The present disclosure discloses a liquid electrophotographic ink. The ink includes a liquid vehicle, an ethylene acid copolymer, and an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid C1-10 alkyl ester copolymer. Also disclosed is a method for the manufacture that ink and a method for performing a liquid electrophotographic process by printing a substrate with the ink.

Liquid electrophotographic ink

The present invention relates to a liquid electrophotographic ink comprising a carrier liquid, a pigmented resin composite dispersed in the carrier liquid, and about 0.15 to about 10% (w/w) of an organic wax. The liquid electrophotographic ink is typically formulated for printing in a liquid electrophotographic printer.

The present disclosure provides for a liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink comprising a carrier fluid, a pigment, a high melt viscosity ethylene acrylic acid copolymer resin, and a high acid ethylene acrylic acid copolymer resin. The high acid ethylene acrylic acid copolymer resin can have an acid content of at least 15 wt % and a viscosity of at least 8,000 poise. Additionally, the LEP ink can have a total resin acidity of at least 15 wt % and a total resin melt viscosity of at least 20,000 poise.

An electronic ink containing charged particles includes a combination of resin particles, a pigment, and a charge director. The resin particles exhibit an average particle size less than 1.0 micron and contain a resin that exhibits a molecular weight of 500 to 20,000. The pigment is loaded on the resin particles. The charge director can physically associate with the resin particles. The charged particles may be negative or positive.

The present disclosure is drawn to a liquid electrophotographic ink, comprising a carrier liquid, and a pigment-polymer blend composition dispersed in the carrier liquid, the pigment-polymer blend composition comprising a pigment and a polymer blend of three distinct polymers. The polymer blend can comprise a first polymer having a melt flow rate of about 20 to about 70 g/10 min and a Vicat softening point of about 60&#xb0; C. to about 70&#xb0; C., a second polymer having a melt flow rate of about 80 to about 120 g/10 min, and a third polymer having an acidity of about 160 to about 230 mg KOH/g and a melt flow rate of at least 500 g/10 min. The liquid electrophotographic ink is typically formulated for printing from a liquid electrophotographic printer.
