An airbag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The airbag arrangement comprising airbag inflatable for protecting a vehicle occupant, a gas generator for inflating the airbag, a gas generator carrier at which the gas generator is arranged, a housing part which&#x2014;with regard to the state of the airbag arrangement installed in the vehicle&#x2014;covers the airbag towards the vehicle interior. The housing part comprises at least one latching element and the gas generator carrier comprises at least one latching opening assigned to the latching element. The housing part can be connected to the gas generator carrier by inserting the latching element into the latching opening along an insertion direction up to a latching position. The latching element reaches behind a blocking element adjacent the latching opening and connected to the gas generator carrier such that pulling the latching element out of the latching opening is counteracted.

Airbag arrangement for vehicle occupant restraint system

An airbag module including an airbag, a gas generator introduced into an opening in the airbag, and a gas generator support on which the gas generator is fixed. The gas generator is arranged with respect to the gas generator support such that in case of activation the airbag pulls the gas generator onto the gas generator support. The gas generator support has an opening through which the non-inflated airbag is pulled such that a first region of the airbag, which does not surround the gas generator, is located on the one side of the opening and a second region of the airbag, which surrounds the gas generator, is located on the other side of the opening, and the opening is dimensioned such that the gas generator cannot be pulled through the opening.

Airbag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system and method for production thereof

An air bag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The air bag arrangement comprising an air bag package, having an air bag, which can be inflated to protect a vehicle occupant, and an envelope, in which the air bag is vacuum-packed, a gas generator for inflating the air bag, a gas generator support, on which the gas generator is fixed and a mounting element, fastened to the gas generator support, to house the air bag package. The mounting element has fastening means via which it is connected to the air bag package in a positive-locking manner and has multiple partial elements.

Airbag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system and method for producing an airbag arrangement

An airbag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The airbag module comprises an airbag, a gas generator, a gas generator support, and a visible surface facing the vehicle interior in the installed state formed by different segments of the airbag module. At least two of the segments comprise optically and/or haptically different surfaces and are mechanically connected to each other by means of mechanical interfaces such that the mechanical connection between the segments is at least partially released when triggered by opening the interfaces so that an opening is formed in the visible surface through which the airbag can exit the airbag module. All segments contributing to the formation of the opening for the airbag by opening the interfaces when triggered are thereby directly fastened to the gas generator support.

Air bag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system

An airbag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The airbag module comprising an airbag and having a visible surface, facing the vehicle interior when installed, which is formed by different segments of the airbag module, wherein at least two of the segments have optically and/or haptically different surfaces. At least two of the segments each have at least one mechanical interface by means of which they can be mechanically connected to at least one of the other segments, forming a connecting area, and at least one of the segments forms at least one tear line, wherein upon tearing open the tear line in the event of deployment an opening is produced in the visible surface through which the airbag can exit the airbag module. Here the mechanical interfaces are designed in such a way that upon tearing open the tear line they endure and do not open.

Airbag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system

A film plate for an airbag cover is provided. The film plate is pre-formed by deep-drawing or embossing and is directly, without reinforcing elements, attachable to the airbag cover by mechanical connecting elements. The airbag cover has, at the location of the film plate, at least a partial support for the film plate and the film plate has an embossed structure on its lower side, which is visible on the upper side.

A device is provided for snap-fastening an airbag unit in a subassembly of a motor vehicle, especially in a steering wheel of a motor vehicle, snap-in elements that are associated with each other being provided on the airbag unit and on the subassembly of the motor vehicle. In order to be able to snap-secure an airbag unit both to a plate-shaped subassembly and to a subassembly having a lateral wall, at least one snap-in hook is provided on the airbag unit or on the subassembly of the motor vehicle, at least one pivotable plastic snap-in clip being associated therewith on the other subassembly. The snap-in hook engages with said clip in at least one section thereof when in the snap-in position.

Device for snap-fastening an airbag unit in a subassembly of a motor vehicle, especially in a steering wheel

The invention relates to a generator support for a driver air bag module to be mounted in the steering wheel of a motor vehicle. The generator support includes at least one fastening area for fastening a gas generator to the generator support and at least two horn contacts that can be brought into electrical contact with each other in order to trigger an acoustic horn signal in a mounted state of the generator support together with the driver air bag module in a motor vehicle. In one form, one of the horn contacts is electrically grounded in the mounted state of the generator support and the fastening area is adapted and positioned relative to the grounded horn contact in such a manner that, when the gas generator is fastened to the fastening area of the generator support as prescribed, an electrical contact is established between the grounded horn contact and the gas generator.
