A wearable electronic device such as a wrist watch () is supplied with conventional clock with two pointers (). The device displays a parameter indicative of how 'cool' the wearer has been over the past period as a function of time, using the time axis of one of the pointers (). 'Coolness' can be based on the measurement of related physiological parameters like heart-rate, body temperature, movement, skin resistance or muscle activity. &#x201c;Coolness&#x201d; of a person is understood as being the ability to cope with stress. Therefore, the stability of physiological parameters can be used to derive a signal for the subjective trait called &#x201c;coolness&#x201d;. All physiological parameters can be measured by sensors () in the watch () or in the strap (). The invention is used as a gadget for self expression and emotional feedback.

Indication of the condition of a user

A system for measuring energy consumption including a plurality of devices of which at least a subset includes a communication unit for supplying operating status information indicating an actual operating status with respect to an actual energy consumption of the associated one of the plurality of devices. A meter measures a total energy consumption of the plurality of devices. A controller calculates an individual energy consumption of a particular one of the plurality of devices from a change of the total energy consumption occurring at a change of the operating status of the particular one of the plurality of devices.
