Methods and systems are provided for initiating an alert in a vehicle. A method includes: receiving sensor data associated with an environment of the vehicle; determining at least one road user based on the sensor data; determining at least one blind spot area associated with a pillar of the vehicle and the road scenario; determining that the at least one road user is a vulnerable road user based on the blind spot area and a size and location of the at least one road user; determining a line of sight of the driver; determining, by the processor, whether the at least one road user is within the line of sight of the driver; and in response to the determining whether the at least one road user is within the line of sight of the driver, selectively generating, by the processor, alert signal data to an alert system of the vehicle.

A system includes a detection module and a control module in communication with the detection module. The detection module includes at least one sensor configured to detect vulnerable road users (VRUs) on or adjacent to a road. The control module is configured to receive data indicative of a detected VRU, determine a location of the detected VRU relative to the vehicle based on the received data, and in response to determining the location of the detected VRU, temporarily flicker an intensity of light output from a first active headlight on a driver side of the vehicle and/or a second active headlight on a passenger side of the vehicle to warn the driver of the location of the detected VRU relative to the vehicle. Methods and systems for controlling movement of e-pallets using multi-modal interaction with a user are provided that include: one or more first sensors configured to obtain first sensor data of a first modality pertaining to a command from the user for movement of the e-pallets; one or more second sensors configured to obtain second sensor data of a second modality, different from the first modality, pertaining to the command; and a processor that is coupled to the one or more first sensors and the one or more second sensors, the processor configured to at least facilitate: determining an intended movement of the e-pallets based on both the first sensor data and the second sensor data; and moving the e-pallets in executing the intended movement, in accordance with instructions provided by the processor to actuators of the e-pallets.

Fiadaptive multi-modal e-pallet control

Systems and methods for controlling a vehicle are provided. The systems and methods receive a frame of visible image data from at least one camera of the vehicle and a frame of invisible perception data from a perception sensor. The systems and methods fuse the frame of invisible perception data and the frame of visible image data to provide a fused frame of perception data. Object detection, classification and tracking are performed using a neural network based on the fused frame of perception data to provide object detection data. Steering, propulsion and/or braking of the vehicle are controlled based on the object detection data.
