The invention relates to a nickel-based alloy having a microstructure with a matrix of &#x3b3;-phase and precipitates of &#x3b3;'-phase. The &#x3b3;&#x2032;-phase comprises a percentage by volume of from 50 vol % to 80 vol % in the temperature range of from 1000&#xb0; C. to 1100&#xb0; C. The nickel-based alloy comprises 8 to 13 at % aluminum, 3 to 14 at % cobalt, 4 to 12 at % chromium, 0.6 to 8 at % molybdenum, 0 to 6 at % rhenium, 0.5 to 4 at % tantalum, 0.5 to 4 at % titanium, 0.3 to 3.5 at % tungsten, 0 to 4 at % germanium, 0 to 0.6 at % hafnium, 0 to 4 at % ruthenium, balance nickel and unavoidable impurities. The concentrations of molybdenum and tungsten are selected such that the percentage X of molybdenum and tungsten in the &#x3b3;-phase, X=0.84 C+C, is greater than 5.5 at % at a temperature of from 1000&#xb0; C. to 1100&#xb0; C., Cand Cbeing the concentrations of molybdenum and tungsten in at %.

Nickel-based alloy with optimized matrix properties

A nickel-base alloy having the following composition (in atomic percent unless otherwise stated): between 12 and 15% of elements from the group consisting of Al, Ti, Ta and Nb, between 12.5% and 17.5% Cr, between 22 and 29% Co, between 0 and 1.5% W, between 0 and 3% Mo, between 0.1 and 0.3% C, between 0.05 and 0.2% B, between 0.02 and 0.07% Zr and, optionally, up to 2% Fe, up to 1% Mn, up to 1% Si, and up to 0.05 Mg; the balance being Ni and incidental impurities. The alloy has an improved combination of properties (principally improved resistance to high temperature deformation and surface environmental damage) compared with known alloys, and is intended to operate for prolonged periods of time above 700&#xb0; C., and up to peak temperatures of 800&#xb0; C.

Nickel alloy

Disclosed is a nickel base alloy which is substantially free of rhenium and has a solidus temperature of more than 1320&#xb0; C. Precipitates of a &#x3b3;'-phase are present in a &#x3b3;-matrix with a fraction of 40 to 50 vol % at 1050&#xb0; C. to 1100&#xb0; C., and a &#x3b3;/&#x3b3;&#x2032; mismatch at 1050&#xb0; C. to 1100&#xb0; C. is from &#x2212;0.15% to &#x2212;0.25%. The alloy comprises 11 to 13 at % aluminum, 4 to 14 at % cobalt, 6 to 12 at % chromium, 0.1 to 2 at % molybdenum, 0.1 to 3.5 at % tantalum, 0.1 to 3.5 at % titanium, 0.1 to 3 at % tungsten. The tungsten content of the &#x3b3;-matrix is greater than that in the precipitated &#x3b3;&#x2032;-phases.
