A system () has a control device () with central electronics () designed for connection and operation of differently coded electric motors (En), with different motor characteristics (Mn) and/or power classes (Ln), to a device connection () of the control device (). The at least one electric motor (En) is selectable from a number (n) of electric motor (En), that can be connected as intended, has a coding element (Kn). The central electronics () have a coding capture device () to recognize, via coding element (n), the motor characteristics (Mn) and/or the power class (Ln) of the respective currently connected electric motor (En).

System comprising component coding

A protective circuit protects against overheating of the stator windings of an EC motor. The stator windings are connected to a semiconductor output stage which is designed for time-offset control of the stator windings using a driver circuit of a commutation controller. The protective circuit has two redundant sensor circuits, wherein two resistance-dependent sensor elements connected in series are provided in the first sensor circuit and one resistance-dependent sensor element is provided in the second sensor circuit. The first and the second sensor circuits are connected, respectively, to two evaluating circuits separated from each other and cause an interruption of the driver circuit using switch-off means when a system-specific resistance value of the first sensor element or the one sensor element associated with the second sensor circuit is reached.

Overtemperature protection

The present disclosure relates to an intermediate circuit for an EC motor, comprising at least two similar series-connected capacitors for the connection of an electronic commutation device of an EC motor for nominal operation at a nominal voltage. In each case, a varistor is connected in parallel to each series-connected capacitor, wherein all the varistors are designed similarly. The capacitors and the varistors are dimensioned so that the threshold voltage of the varistors is less than the breakdown voltage of the respective parallel-connected capacitor, and, in the case of the failure of a capacitor or of a varistor, the sum of the threshold voltages of the remaining varistors is smaller than/equal to the nominal voltage of the intermediate circuit, and the sum of the threshold voltages of the series-connected varistors is greater than the nominal voltage of the intermediate circuit.
