Aspects relate to delay management techniques to handle delays introduced by high latency links in non-terrestrial networks for non-access stratum (NAS) mobility management and session management procedures. The NAS timers within the user equipment (UE) and core network utilized for mobility management and session management procedures may be configured with different durations, such as a normal duration, an extended duration, or a reduced duration, based on whether the UE is connected to a terrestrial or non-terrestrial radio access network (RAN), one or more capabilities of the UE, and/or the various RAN types (e.g., terrestrial or non-terrestrial) within a registration area that the UE is located in.

Delay management in wireless networks

A configuration for allowing a wireless device to request control of another wireless device. The apparatus receives a message from a first user equipment (UE), the message comprising a first identifier (ID). The apparatus sends a first request to an authority requesting authorization to control the first UE. The apparatus receives information from the authority for controlling the first UE. The apparatus transmits a second request for connection with the first UE to control the first UE, the second request comprising the information received from the authority.

Third party control of a user equipment

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) user equipment (UE) may perform a registration procedure with a UAV service supplier (USS) device via a network connection to register with the USS device. The UAV UE may perform a registration procedure with a core network device to register with a network associated with the core network device based at least in part on performing the registration procedure with the USS device. The UAV UE may receive, from the core network device, an indication to perform an authentication and authorization procedure only after performing the registration procedure with the USS device and after performing the registration procedure with the core network device. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Triggering of unmanned aerial vehicle authentication and authorization procedure

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless network may receive a message from a wireless device that is coupled with an aerial vehicle. The message may include a network identifier, an aerial identifier, and operational information for the aerial vehicle. The wireless network may send a message to an aerial function management system requesting that the aerial function management system authenticate an identity of the aerial vehicle. The wireless network may also request that the aerial function management system approve a flight path for the aerial vehicle. The wireless network may establish a data session with the wireless device based on an authentication of the aerial vehicle and an approval of the flight path.

Mechanism for unmanned vehicle authorization for operation over cellular networks

The present disclosure relates to wireless communications, and more particularly to providing connectivity of a PC5 remote user equipment (UE) with UE-to-network (NW) relay access to the 5G core (5GC) via an IWF (e.g., N3IWF). In one aspect, a remote UE may be provided support for a network access stratum (NAS) connection with 5GC via an IWF. In another aspect, Access Traffic Steering, Switching and Splitting (ATSSS) support may be provided for a remote UE.

Techniques for supporting connectivity of remote user equipments with relay access via an interworking function

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a UE with multiple universal subscription identity modules (i.e., a multi-USIM device) or concurrent radio access technology (C-RAT) capabilities to receive and respond to a page from a network of a first USIIM of the UE while not activating a receiver on that network by receiving the page (from the network of the first USIM) on a receiver active on a network of a second USIM. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes sending a request to register for paging events in a registration request message to an access and management function (AMF) of a network of a first universal subscriber identifier module (USIM) of the UE; sending a paging public user identifier (PPUID) of the UE, in a protocol data unit (PDU) session, to a paging server via a network of a second USIM of the UE, wherein the paging server is associated with the network of the first USIM; and receiving a message associated with the first USIM via the PDU session or another PDU session via the network of the second USIM.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may obtain emission control information that indicates a first emission control configuration associated with a first operating configuration and a second emission control configuration associated with a second operating configuration. The UE may transmit, using the first emission control configuration or the second emission control configuration based at least in part on a UE operating configuration associated with the UE, a communication. Emission control of an aerial user equipment

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a network may establish a multiple access (MA) packet data unit (PDU) session for a local area data network (LADN) and may reconfigure a registration area to map to a LADN service area. A network may establish an MA PDU session for an LADN, but may steer traffic to only one of two access links. A network may reject a request for an MA PDU if it is for an LADN. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to trigger a UE registration update or other location information if it leaves an LADN service area while in an idle mode with one access network and a connected mode with the other access network. A UE may request LADN registration, and the network may provide the UE with an indication that MA PDU sessions for the LADN are not supported.

Multi-access packet data unit sessions for local area data networks

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network, a procedure rejection message for non-cellular access at a non-access stratum (NAS) layer, and provide a first congestion indication from the NAS layer to lower layers for non-cellular access based at least in part on the receiving the procedure rejection message. The UE may refrain, at the lower layers, from initiating establishment of a signaling connection based at least in part on the first congestion indication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Non-access stratum congestion indications

Wireless communications systems and methods related to on-demand ultra-reliable, low-latency communication (URLLC) are provided. In one embodiment, a base station (BS) receives, from a user equipment (UE) in a first cell frequency, a request for a protocol data unit (PDU) session over a network slice. The BS receives, from a core network entity, a resource configuration request for the PDU session over the network slice. The BS transmits, to the core network entity, a resource configuration response indicating a cause for rejecting the resource configuration request. In one embodiment, a UE transmits, in a first cell frequency of a network, a network registration request message requesting a network slice of the network that is not provided by the first cell frequency. The UE receives a network registration response message indicating the network slice is allowed based on a second cell frequency of the network providing the network slice requested.

On-demand ultra-reliable, low-latency communication (URLLC)

Some aspects described herein relate to provisioning aerial vehicles with identifiers, certificates, or other credentials for communicating based on a mobile network. The UAV can transmit a request to register with the mobile network, where the request includes at least a hardware identifier of the UAV. The UAV may receive, from a component of the mobile network, a response to the request, where the response includes a unique UAV identifier, a UAV certificate, and a network certificate generated by at least one of the component of the mobile network or a unmanned aircraft system service supplier (USS).

Techniques for identifying aerial vehicles in mobile networks

Various aspects of the present disclosure include methods, network servers or components and user equipment devices configured to authorize network slices that are associated with services provided by external providers. Various aspects enable access and use of network slices by user equipment devices connected to a network (e.g., 5G or New Radio network) via network components associated with a service provider by generating an allowed network slice selection assistance information (Allowed NSSAI) and an Unauthorized NSSAI, and sending the Allowed NSSAI and Unauthorized NSSAI to a user equipment device.

Systems and methods of supporting device triggered re-authentication of slice-specific secondary authentication and authorization

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may monitor one or more first conditions pertaining to non-cellular communications between the UE and a non-cellular network while the UE is operating in a dual networking mode for steering, switching, or splitting traffic (e.g., an access traffic steering, switching, and splitting (ATSSS) mode) between the non-cellular network and a cellular network. The UE may predict an availability status of at least the non-cellular network based on at least one of the one or more first conditions. In some cases, the UE may determine whether to change dual networking modes based on the availability status and may communicate in accordance with the same or a different dual networking mode using at least one of the cellular network, the non-cellular network, or a combination thereof based on the prediction.

Techniques for operating in accordance with a dual networking mode for steering, switching and splitting traffic

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for maximizing the potential of resources dedicated to aerial user equipment (UEs). In one example, a UE may receive signaling indicating that a cell supports communications exclusively with aerial UEs. The signaling may be used to bar non-aerial UEs from accessing the cell and reserve resources for communications with aerial UEs. In another example, a UE may receive signaling identifying one or more frequency bands dedicated to aerial UEs. The UE may then communicate on the one or more frequency bands. In yet another example, a UE may receive signaling indicating a set of aerial access categories supported by a cell. The signaling may be used to reserve resources for high-priority aerial UEs (e.g., aerial UEs used for law enforcement purposes).

Operation in aerial dedicated spectrum

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication using satellite access to a wireless network, where a wireless cell supported by a satellite is moving or temporarily fixed. In an aspect, a radio access network (RAN) entity or a user equipment (UE) provides, to a core network entity, an enhanced cell global identifier (CGI), where the enhanced CGI includes at least one field representing a location of the UE. Based on the enhanced CGI, the core network entity determines a location of the UE, and may provide a service to the UE based on the location. A core network may also provide an enhanced CGI to a RAN, e.g., to support wireless emergency alerting to UEs.
