Various embodiments relate to a microchip die cooling assembly comprising a circuit board; a microchip having an exposed die attached to the circuit board; a heatspreader having a top side and a bottom side; a heat sink having a bottom side and a top side comprising a cooling structure; a first thermal interface material in contact with the exposed die and the bottom side of the heatspreader; and a second thermal interface material in contact with the top side of the heat spreader and the bottom side of the heat sink.

An angled card cage for improved cooling airflow in front to back airflow products is disclosed. The angled card cage for improved cooling airflow includes a card cage having horizontally mounted circuit cards wherein the card cage is oriented at a non-orthogonal yaw angle relative to the front facing of an equipment rack. The angled card cage for improved cooling airflow provides advantages over systems known in the art by reducing pressure head losses incurred by the cooling air stream.

Improved Sealed Expansion Module is an enclosure for housing electronics, such as circuit boards, POTS/VDSL cables having connectors, a fiber cable having a connector and a power cable having a connector. The preferred embodiment of Improved Sealed Expansion Module is comprised of at least some of the following: an enclosure having two internally undivided chambers (upper and lower), an access hatch attached with captive fasteners to the lower chamber of the enclosure, circuit boards located in the upper chamber of the enclosure, a surge protector and POTS/VDSL, fiber and power cables with connectors within the lower chamber of the enclosure, and a plurality of openings on the bottom of the lower chamber for POTS/VDSL interconnection cables, fiber interconnection cables, power interconnection cables at customer sites.

Sealed expansion module

A cabinet for electronics equipment, comprising: a compartment for installing the electronics equipment; a door for accessing the compartment; an outer duct mounted on an outer surface of the door for directing exterior air around a heat exchanger core mounted in the door, the heat exchanger core for transferring heat from interior air in the compartment to the exterior air to thereby cool the interior air; an exhaust duct extending over a top surface of the compartment and pneumatically coupling with the outer duct when the door is in a closed position, the exhaust duct for exhausting the exterior air and for reducing solar loading on the top surface by transferring heat absorbed by the exhaust duct to the exterior air passing therethrough; and, one or more fans for forcing the exterior air in through the outer duct, around the heat exchanger core, and out through the exhaust duct, the one or more fans being mounted between the outer duct and the exhaust duct to thereby attenuate noise emitted by the one or more fans.

Electronics equipment cabinet

A method and apparatus for mounting a plurality of circuit card guides on a circuit card cage. The cage has two pairs of end fingers at each end of a mounting surface, and an arch proximate the center thereof. Each card guide has end tabs and a central medial tab having a lateral edge. One set of end fingers is engaged with one of the set of end tabs and the card guide is flexed in the plane thereof to shorten the distance between the ends of the end tabs and fit the other pair of end tabs under the other pair of end fingers. Unflexing the guide fit the tabs under the end fingers. The card is flexed transverse to the plane thereof so the edge of the tab is beyond the arch allowing the guide to unflex so that the tab is moved under the arch.

Space-saving card guides for card cage and method of installing same on a card cage or frame

An electronic circuit pack having a printed circuit board with a faceplate at a front of the board. The faceplate has two end regions carrying latches for holding the board into a shelf. A front wall of the faceplate has an intermediate part between the end regions, the intermediate part extending forwardly of the end regions and lying at least between the latches. Preferably, the intermediate part of the front wall extends as far as a frontal vertical plane of the shelf which is the foremost position allowable for a shelf and a circuit board combination. The intermediate part of the front wall lying in this forward position provides additional space behind it for extending the electronic circuitry of the circuit pack for a unitary shelf size. This additional space is occupied by the printed circuit board with conductors and electronic components and/or connectors for test purposes and memory cards.
