The invention is directed to a method for making a pressure-tight attachment of an elastomeric tubular piece to an attachment part. For making the pressure-tight attachment, an open end of a tubular piece made of elastomeric material is pushed onto a connecting part and a metal clamping ring is positioned thereon. While radially pressing the jaws of the clamping device together, the diameter of the clamping ring is reduced and the tubular piece is thereby tightly clamped to the connecting part. The clamping operation is ended before damage occurs but only when an adequate strength is ensured. During clamping, the force/displacement curve is observed and a characteristic feature of the measured curve is used as a basis of computation for a switchoff criterion. Preferably, the clamping operation is only ended when the clamping force begins to drop for the first time after the maximum force is exceeded in a defined manner in a predetermined localized or bounded curve segment. The method of the invention is especially for attaching a resilient member to a cover and/or to a roll-off piston of an air spring of a motor vehicle.

Method for making a pressure-tight attachment of an elastomeric tubular piece to a connecting part

An air spring includes a flexible member, which encloses an air volume, and two connecting parts. Each of the connecting parts has a clamp seat on which an end of the flexible member is attached with the aid of a clamp ring assigned to the clamp seat. The surface of at least one clamp seat is at least approximately convex and the total inner side of the clamp ring, which is assigned to the clamp seat, is configured to be at least approximately concave.

Air spring and method for making the same

A device is disclosed for applying individual reinforcing threads onto a tubular layer. The device contains a positioning ring with equidistant holes that lie on a circumferential line, with the positioning ring surrounding and concentric with a rotationally symmetric, funnel-shaped deflection element. The deflection element deflects the reinforcing threads that are guided from radially outward to radially inward through the holes f the positioning ring into an essentially axial direction, wherein all the threads assume an equidistant spacing from one another. Also disclosed is a process for manufacturing an unfinished tube consisting of several layers with the aid of the device.

A compressed air landing strut is disclosed with a pneumatic shock absorber which is set onto a spring support . The spring support has an offset and the end region of the roll-off piston is flared radially outward, so that it surrounds the offset . An O-ring is radially compressed between the outer wall of the spring support and the inner wall of the roll-off piston and seals the spring space of the pneumatic shock absorber air-tight against the environment. A method for the manufacture of said pneumatic shock absorber is also disclosed.

Air spring system

A method for controlling or regulating a compressor,that can be switched on and off on demand, wherein a control unit,that switches the compressor,on and off is provided with the compressor. In a method of this type, it must be ensured that the compressor,is not damaged due to overheating. This is attained due to the fact that the control unit,operates the compressor,continuously during a regulating process until a limiting value is reached, and that said control unit operates the compressor in a cyclic manner once the limiting value is reached. This method makes it possible to complete regulating processes even if a critical limiting value is already reached.

The invention relates to an arrangement which includes an air spring (2), an ancillary volume (4) and a connecting line (6) which connects the air spring (2) and the ancillary volume (4) to each other. A valve (12), which is actuated by air pressure, is disposed in the connecting line (6). The valve (12) includes a cylinder (14) having a chamber (16) wherein a hollow piston (18) is mounted so as to be axially movable. In an open position of the hollow piston (18), the valve (12) clears the connecting line (6); whereas, the connecting line (6) is blocked in a closed position of the hollow piston (18). The invention also relates to a valve which is actuated by air pressure.

Air spring arrangement

The invention is directed to a check valve for an air spring which has a supply line through which air is supplied. Even after the supply line is disconnected, the pressure in the air spring should not drop below a certain minimum pressure. When refilling and during storage, a defined position of the flexible member should be provided. The air check valve 4 includes a valve body 8, a valve housing 6 and an elastic valve plate 10. The valve body 8 functions as a base plate and has a concentric ring-shaped sealing edge 24 to impart bending stress to the elastic valve plate 10. The valve body has a bore 30 disposed outside of the ring edge 24. The valve housing 6 has a ring-shaped depression 32 corresponding to the ring edge 24. The valve plate 10 has a center bore 22 which communicates with an air connection 28 via a channel 26 disposed in the valve housing. The peripheral portion of the elastic valve plate 10 is clamped between profiles (18, 20) of the valve body 8 and the valve housing 6. The air check valve can be used in all types of vehicle air springs.

A linear drive system has a guide rail and a transport device that is moveable along the guide rail. At least one tubular, flexible hollow body is positioned along the extension of the guide rail. The hollow body consists essentially of an elastomeric material and has a first and a second end. The at least one hollow body is loadable with a pressure medium from the first or the second end. At least one squeezing roller is rotatably connected to the transport device for forcing sealingly the at least one hollow body against a counter element. The guide rail consists essentially of a flexible elastomer.

Pressure-medium activated linear drive system

The invention is directed to an air spring having a sleeve-type flexible member made of elastomeric material. The flexible member has end sections which are attached to connecting parts by radially plastically deformed clamping rings. The clamping ring attaches an end section of the sleeve-type flexible member to a particular connecting part with a friction-contact connection to enable the attachment of the flexible member to withstand higher pull-out forces.
