A method is disclosed herein for reducing energy consumption in a wireless device. A wireless device (e.g., a user equipment) can provide an indication to a network node (e.g., a base station) to indicate that the wireless device will prioritize energy consumption reduction over some network requirements (e.g., latency and/or scheduling flexibility requirements). Accordingly, the wireless device can perform certain power-saving actions to reduce energy consumption. The network node, upon receiving the indication from the wireless device, can perform certain network-related actions to assist the wireless device in reducing energy consumption. As a result, it is possible for the wireless device to reduce energy consumption and complexity, thus helping to prolong battery life in the wireless device.

Methods and devices for reducing UE energy consumption

A method performed by a wireless device, UE, for configuring a semi-persistent scheduling, SPS is described. In accordance with the method, the UE may be configured to monitor a first search space of a physical downlink control channel for downlink control information, DCI, dedicated to the UE. The method may include receiving from the communication network SPS configuration data to configure a second search space to be monitored by the UE for DCI to activate or de-activate the SPS, the second search space being smaller than the first search space, and monitoring the second search space to detect the DCI to activate or de-activate the SPS. A corresponding method may be performed by a network node.

Activation and de-activation of semi-persistent scheduling

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. A network node configured to communicate with a wireless device (WD) is provided. The network node is configured to, and/or includes a radio interface and/or includes processing circuitry configured to transmit a downlink control information (DCI) to the wireless device where the DCI is configured to schedule a plurality of transport blocks (TBs) where the DCI including at least one parameter that is configured to be applied to the plurality of TBs, and perform communications based on the transmitted DCI.

Embodiments include methods, performed by a network node in a wireless network, for signaling resynchronization signal (RSS) configurations of neighbor cells to one or more user equipment (UEs). Such methods include encoding a plurality of parameters of respective RSS configurations of one or more neighbor cells. For each particular neighbor cell, the parameters can include one or more RSS frequency locations and an RSS time offset for the particular neighbor cell, and the encoding can be based on a bitmap and a parameter associated with the particular neighbor cell (e.g., a physical cell ID). Such methods also include transmitting, to the one or more UEs, at least a portion of the encoded parameters of the respective RSS configurations of the neighbor cells. Embodiments also include complementary methods performed by UEs, as well as network nodes and UEs configured to perform such methods.

Disclosed is a method performed by an airborne base station () arranged at an aircraft () and providing radio coverage to a wireless device () residing in the aircraft (). The method comprises obtaining altitude information indicating at least one of the present altitude of the aircraft () and an altitude rate of change of the aircraft (), and handling a connection of the wireless device () to the airborne base station () based on the obtained altitude information.

It is provided a method for enabling rendering of user-specific information using a display device, the method being performed by a user device comprising a camera, the user device being separate from the display device. The method comprises the steps of: determining a selected display device and creating a logical association between the user device and the selected display device; capturing at least one image of the display device using the camera; decoding the at least one image, resulting in decoded content; and rendering the decoded content for a user of the user device in a location corresponding to the selected display device.

Enabling rendering of user-specific information using a display device

There is provided mechanisms for requesting radio resources from a second terminal device. A method is performed by a first terminal device. The method comprises identifying an increasing need for use of radio resources. The method comprises transmitting, via a sidelink to the second terminal device, a request for using radio resources allocated to the second terminal device. The method comprises receiving, via the sidelink, a response from the second terminal device. The response pertains to whether the second terminal device has granted the first terminal device to use at least some of the requested radio resources or not. The method comprises providing, towards a network node serving the first terminal device, a notification of that the first terminal device has requested the radio resources from the second terminal device and/or of that the second terminal device has granted the first terminal device to use at least some of the requested radio resources.

A user terminal emulation server maintains a database identifying network addresses, UI capabilities, and locations of I/O user devices. Communication sessions are established between first and second user terminal emulation applications and respective first and second I/O user devices proximately located to respective first and second users and which provide acceptable combined I/O user interfaces to the first and second users. When a direct path criterion is satisfied for creating a direct traffic flow, a traffic flow that was from the first I/O user devices to the first user terminal emulation applications is redirected to now be from the first I/O user device to the second I/O user device without passing through either of the first and second user terminal emulation applications.

A technique for transmitting system information for a time-division duplex, TDD, communication in a radio access network, RAN, is described. As to a method aspect of the technique, a master information block, MIB, is transmitted on an anchor carrier () of the TDD communication in the RAN. The MIB is indicative of a spectral resource (--) allocated to a system information block, SIB, of the TDD communication in the RAN. The SIB is transmitted on the spectral resource (--) indicated in the MIB.

A method for enabling autonomous emergency assistance for a communication device, CD, registered in a regular cellular network is presented. The method is performed in an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle, UAV, and comprises directing the UAV to a geographical region connected to a preregistered position of the CD, emulating a cellular network in the geographical region, wherein the UAV and the CD are without connectivity with the regular cellular network, and providing autonomous emergency assistance for the CD in the geographical region. A CD, a UAV, a computer program and a computer program product are also presented.

A user terminal emulation server maintains a database identifying network addresses, UI capabilities, and communication protocols of I/O user devices. Communication sessions are established between a user terminal emulation application and a network entity and I/O user devices proximately located to a user and provide a combined I/O user interface. Delay profiles are determined between the application and the I/O user devices. A downlink flow from the network entity is split into a plurality of downlink flow components assigned to the I/O user devices. For each of the downlink flow components, the server formats the component for transmission to the assigned I/O user device, initiates transmission of the formatted downlink flow component to the assigned I/O user device, and controls timing for when the formatted downlink flow component is transmitted to the assigned I/O user device based on the delay profile associated with the assigned I/O user device.
