Method for identifying Internet users, comprising: identifying or authenticating an Internet user at the Internet access point in the course of an access check when using the Internet access service of an Internet Service Provider with whom the Internet user maintains a business relation; and after the Internet user successfully passed the access check adding Internet user identification information to an Internet user's IP message by the Internet access point prior to forwarding said IP message, guaranteeing the integrity of this information with cryptographic means.

Method for identifying internet users

According to the inventive method, call back information is transmitted to a telephone network via an internet terminal using a click-to-dial service. In order to verify the information, the telephone network extracts internet terminal specific information from the access server via the internet. After comparing the call number information which is contained in the call back information and in the internet terminal specific information, the return call is initiated or suppressed. Return calls to subscribers who do not want to be called are thus suppressed.

There may be applications where for IN-calls, one SCP begins processing a transaction for supporting a service but another SCP continues processing said transaction. The invention shows how such a continuation of processing can be carried out in cases where this can be solved in terms of protocol.
