A drive device for a solid bowl screw centrifuge includes a motor for rotating a drum of the centrifuge, a transmission which is connected between the motor and the drum, and a cooling device for cooling the transmission during operation when the drum is rotating. The cooling device is an annular body which is fitted on the outside of the transmission and has an air guiding device that conducts air from farther outwards radially inwards onto a surface of the transmission.

A solid-bowl screw centrifuge includes one or more discharge weir(s) for discharging clarified liquid out of a drum which has a rotational axis and a rotational direction. The centrifuge has one or more through-opening(s) in a drum cover, each of which is associated with a weir plate having a recess. An open discharge channel is formed on the through-opening at the recess, a deflection from a direction parallel to the rotational direction of the drum substantially into a circumferential direction in the rotational direction being carried out by the discharge channel. The discharge channel is designed such that exiting liquid is conducted over the base of the discharge channel to an overflow edge. The base of the discharge channel to the overflow edge is inclined inwards in the rotational direction relative to the tangential direction by an inclination angle &#x3b4;&#x2265;0 at the point of the overflow edge.

A solid-wall screw centrifuge includes a discharge for discharging a clarified liquid from a drum of the centrifuge. The drum includes a passage in a drum cover associated with a weir plate. The passage, drum cover, and weir plate form an overflow weir on a radial inner edge. A deflecting device is arranged on an outside on the drum cover, the deflecting device is arranged such that an exiting fluid flow from the centrifuge is one of deflected in the circumferential direction and subjected to a twist in the circumferential direction.

A fully jacketed screw centrifuge includes a rotatable drum having a horizontally oriented rotational axis, a rotatable screw arranged in the drum, and at least one discharge opening oriented at an angle to the rotational axis of the fully jacketed screw centrifuge for discharging solid from the drum in the jacket of the drum. A collecting chamber for solid, which surrounds the drum that rotates during operation in some sections and which does not rotate during operation, is associated with the at least one discharge opening. At least one hose segment not circumferentially closed in the cross-section is arranged in the collecting chamber. The hose segment is composed of an elastomeric material, which oscillates when impinged by discharged solids to reduce accumulation of the discharged solids on the hose segment.

A screw centrifuge including a drum having a rotor, the drum having two axial ends and a horizontal axis of rotation, and a screw arranged in the drum and configured to rotate relative to the drum at a speed different from a rotation speed of the drum. Also included is a bearing device located at each axial end of the drum and configured to bear the drum. Each bearing device includes a housing and a pair of cantilevers extending in opposite directions away from the housing. Further included is a pair of spring elements associated with each bearing device and configured for sprung support of the drum. Each spring is arranged between one of the cantilevers and a frame, the spring elements being located at each axial end of the drum.

A solid-bowl centrifuge comprising, a centrifugal drum rotatable about a horizontal axis of rotation, the centrifugal drum including a weir to drain a liquid out of the centrifugal drum, the weir including a passage having at least one passage opening in an axial end region of the centrifugal drum that includes a drum lid: a deflector plate arranged outside the centrifugal drum and in front of the drum lid, the deflector plate being stationary during an operation of the centrifugal drum and widening at least in sections as the deflector plate extends away from the centrifugal drum: and the deflector plate including an interior jacket, and a distance of the interior jacket from the horizontal axis of rotation not being constant but widening.
