A temperature determination device includes: a temperature sensor; a mount; and at least one connection sensor. The temperature sensor is connectable to a process device via the mount. The temperature sensor acquires temperature data. The at least one connection sensor acquires connection status data relating to connection of the temperature sensor to the process device. The temperature determination device utilizes the temperature data and the connection status data with respect to a determination of a temperature of the process device.

Temperature determination device

A temperature determination device includes: a temperature sensor connectable to a process device at a connection position and for acquiring temperature data; and an environmental sensor for monitoring an environment in a region of the connection position and acquiring environmental data for the region of the connection position. The temperature determination device utilizes the temperature data and the environmental data with respect to a determination of a temperature of the process device.

A temperature measuring device for determining a temperature of a medium via a temperature of a measuring point on a surface surrounding the medium includes: at least one measuring sensor; at least one reference sensor; and a measurement value processing means, which is connected via a first supply line to the at least one measuring sensor and via a second supply line to the at least one reference sensor. The first and second supply lines each are mineral-insulated sheathed lines with an outer sheath of metal, the outer sheath enclosing at least two inner conductors which are insulated from the outer sheath with highly compressed metal oxide powder. The at least one measuring sensor is connected to the at least two inner conductors of the first supply line and the at least one reference sensor is connected to the at least two inner conductors of the second supply line.

Temperature measuring device and method for determining temperature

The disclosure relates to a method for increasing the availability of displacement/position measuring systems on the basis of potentiometers with a slider tap in a closed control loop, the controller of which is formed by a microcontroller which is supplied with the position of the slider via an analog/digital converter. At least part of the sensor range of the potentiometer is scanned on request by presetting a sequence of manipulated variables and an available control loop variable which represents the position value at a high sampling rate outside process tasks is recorded, to determine the exact position of a defective slider position of the potentiometer by evaluating the variable. The reference variable of the control loop is overloaded in a defined manner within the process task such that the defective slider position is passed over during the displacement/position measurement and an intact slider position is reached.

Method for increasing the availability of displacement/position measuring systems on the basis of potentiometers with a slider tap

The disclosure relates to a method and device for operating an electropneumatic valve for driving a pneumatic actuator drive to activate fittings in automation systems. The valve has at least one electropneumatic transducer and a pneumatic booster. The pneumatic booster has at least one 3/3 way valve with a blocking center position for optionally connecting an air inflow duct or an air outflow duct to a connecting duct, which connects to the actuator drive. The ducts are activated as a function of an electrical actuation signal by the electropneumatic transducer. At least one position of the 3/3 way valve with a blocking center position is measured and a correction value of a variable of the actuation signal is determined based on the measured value and the electrical actuation signal.

Method and device for operating an electropneumatic valve

The disclosure relates to an arrangement for contactlessly measuring a position using a magnetoresistive sensor, the displacement-proportional transfer characteristic of which has a plurality of ranges which are suitable for a position measurement and associated characteristic curve sections of which have both positive and negative gradients. The arrangement can be included in a position regulator which has control electronics which, with the aid of a microcontroller, receive one or more input signals and output actuating signals for controlling the actuating drive. A method is also disclosed for operating the arrangement. For example, to uniquely associate the direction of movement of the displacement pick-off shaft with the effective direction of the drive, at least one range sensor for detecting the characteristic curve range of the magnetoresistive measuring system, which is in the form of a magnetoresistor potentiometer, in which the position is measured, is proposed. The range sensor can be connected to the control electronics. The activity of each range sensor can be assigned a sign for the gradient of the characteristic curve section of the measuring system in which the position is measured, which sign can be used to infer the effective direction of the actuating drive.

Arrangement for contactlessly measuring a position using a magnetoresistive sensor, and method for operating the arrangement

An electropneumatic position regulator for controlling a pressure-medium-operated actuating drive to which compressed air can be applied via a working connection of the actuating drive. Compressed air is made available to the position regulator via a feed pressure connection, and the pressure regulator includes an electronic control unit configured to assume a safety position in the event of a fault. When the electronic control unit assumes a safety position, a downstream signal output unit, which acts as a driver stage, generates at least one binary fault signal which is indicated in an externally perceptible manner (e.g., visually and/or audibly) by at least one signaling device fitted externally to a housing of the position regulator.

Signaling of the active safety position of electropneumatic position regulators

A device for activating an electropneumatic valve of a pressure medium-operated position controller, in which the valve is activated by a manipulated variable. To achieve a blocking fail-safe behavior in case of a failure of a pressure medium, the device includes means for detecting the current position of a booster stage downstream of the valve and assigning the manipulated variable based on the detected position, and means for measuring a first variable to be influenced by the position controller. The device includes an evaluation unit configured to determine an expected directional reaction of the first variable to the assigned manipulated variable, compare the expected reaction with the measured reaction, determine a pressure medium failure as a fault situation if the expected reaction does not coincide with the measured reaction, and assign, as a new manipulated variable for the valve, an emergency signal generating a blocking fail-safe behavior of the valve.
