A common mode choke for connecting to DC side of a power converter. The common mode choke includes a choke core having first and second core portions for guiding magnetic flux. The common mode choke also includes a first winding and a second winding for generating magnetic flux, wherein both of the windings have series-connected first and second portions, respectively. The first portion of the first winding and the first portion of the second winding are concentrically around the first core portion, with the first portion of the first winding concentrically wound over the first portion of the second winding as an outer winding, and the second portion of the first winding and the second portion of the second winding are concentrically around the second core portion, with the second portion of the second winding concentrically wound over the second portion of the first winding as an outer winding.

Common mode choke for connecting to DC side of power converter, filter arrangement, and power converter

An inductor assembly for use in a power converter for transferring power between a DC voltage network and a multiphase AC voltage network. The inductor assembly comprises a core for guiding magnetic flux and coils for generating magnetic flux wherein the core has first legs with differential mode coil wires wound around the first legs and at least one second leg with at least two common mode coil wires wound around said second leg. The winding direction of both AC- and DC-side coils is such that a common-mode electrical current which flows in both coils in the same direction induces in each core leg a magnetic flux which reinforces the total flux circulating in the core.

Inductor assembly

A DC-link charging arrangement is described having a DC-link capacitor, rectifier means, and contactor means arranged between supply voltage ports and the rectifier means and having at least one contactor. Such a charging arrangement should enable charging of a DC-link capacitor in a simple way with low losses. To this end a charging capacitor is arranged bridging the at least one contactor.

A method for a direct current (DC) power distribution arrangement and a direct current (DC) power distribution arrangement, comprising a plurality of DC power distribution subsystems. Each DC power distribution subsystem comprises an inverter unit (INU) configured to operate as a subsystem-specific circuit breaker for intercoupling/separating the DC power distribution subsystem to/from the rest of the DC power distribution arrangement.

Arrangement and method for a power bus

A filter arrangement in connection with a power converter for transferring power between a multiphase AC voltage network and a DC voltage network. The filter arrangement comprises a differential mode coil coupled between each AC terminal of an inverter bridge and corresponding AC network phase terminal, and a common mode coil coupled between each inverter bridge DC terminal and corresponding DC network terminal. Both inductors are located in the same magnetic core structure such that each of the differential mode winding is wound around its own phase-specific core leg and all common mode windings are wound around their own single core leg. The winding direction of both AC- and DC-side inductor windings is such that a common-mode current which flows along both inductors in the same direction, induces in each magnetic core leg a flux which reinforces the total flux circulating in the magnetic core.

Filter arrangement

A converter circuitry between a first network, which may be either a poly-phase medium-voltage alternating current (AC) network, at least one polyphase low-voltage AC network or at least one direct-current (DC) network, and a second network, which may be either a polyphase medium-voltage AC network or a medium-voltage DC network, wherein the converter circuitry comprises at least one power bus and low-voltage power cells both at the first and at the second network side such that each power cell is connected to a power bus via a transformer. Each power bus is connected to a low-voltage power unit, which is able to supply pre-charging power via the power bus to all power cell intermediate DC-link filtering capacitors before the converter is started. The low-voltage power unit is also able to take care of a resistor braking in case the first network cannot take the power supplied by the load connected to the second network.

Power converter for trasmitting power between networks

An electric system comprising communication link between a signal transmitting end and a signal receiving end, wherein, at the signal transmitting end, a number of data bits are integrated into a low frequency signal to form an integrated signal. Each data bit is transmitted as part of a symbol. Each symbol comprises a predefined number of bits encoding at least one data bit, the state of some of the bits of each symbol being dependent on the state of the low frequency symbol.

Integrated serial communication

Power electronics device, such as a frequency converter, comprising power units (REC, INU, INU, CDC), a metal frame () and a DC bus arrangement in which the power units are connected. The power units may be assembled inside the metal frame () wherein the shape of the metal frame is elongated with rectangular cross-sectional shape, consisting of a bottom part () and from that essentially vertical oriented side wall parts (). The DC bus arrangement is arranged on top of the bottom part () of the metal frame () and separated by an insulator layer (S) from the metal frame (). The DC bus arrangement comprises a first DC bus current conductor (DC+) and a second DC bus current conductor (DC&#x2212;) which are arranged apart from each other. The DC bus current conductors (DC+, DC&#x2212;) have a flat shape in such a way that their thickness dimension is essentially shorter than their width dimension.

Arrangement for oscillation dampening

Arrangement for cooling, with liquid, one or more electrical devices or structural units of an electrical device that is/are in at least one installation enclosure. A main channeling includes two channels, for distributing the liquid to the electrical devices to be cooled or to the structural units of the electrical devices, a liquid container, which is connected to one of the main channels directly and to the other main channel via a suction channel a pump and a heat exchanger, and also a shut-off valve. The liquid container is disposed below the electrical devices to be cooled or their structural elements, and the amount of liquid to be contained in the arrangement is configured to be such the ends of both the suction channel and the return channel that are inside the liquid container are always situated below the liquid surface.

Liquid cooling arrangement

Power electronics device, such as a frequency converter, which includes liquid-cooled power units (REC, REC, AFE, AFE, INU, INU, DC/DC, DC/AC) and also a substrate arrangement. The power units include at least one power semiconductor component, e.g. an IGBT or a diode, connected to at least one power circuit connecting them. The power units are mechanically separate and they are disposed on at least one substrate provided with liquid cooling ducts. The substrate is common to more than one power unit, wherein the substrate includes liquid cooling interfaces and power circuit interfaces for each power unit that can be connected to it. In addition, the substrate includes one liquid cooling interface and one power circuit interface (DC+, DC&#x2212;) to outside the substrate.

Method and apparatus for measuring an earth fault current in an output circuit of an inverter (INU) operating on the PWM principle and forming alternating-current voltage from direct-current voltage, the output currents (i, iand i) of which inverter are measured, and which inverter comprises at least two phase switches implemented with power semiconductor components (V-V, D-D), which switches, controlled by a control unit, connect their own output phases to a positive (+) pole and to a negative (&#x2212;) pole of a direct-current voltage source such that the phase switches are repeatedly both in different positions and also in the same positions, wherein the results of current measurement during two opposite switch position combinations are recorded in memory, and the earth fault current is calculated by forming a difference of the measurement results of said combinations.

A broadcast receiver and a method for setting the broadcast receiver, comprising receiving a primary broadcast sent by a broadcast station and retrieving program associated data made available by said broadcast station. Method and apparatus to start a frequency converter equipped with a direct current intermediate circuit, particularly when a permanent magnet motor whose rotor is rotating at the start-up time is connected to it, wherein the frequency converter has a network bridge () and load bridge (), and the load bridge has controllable power semiconductor switches of the upper and lower branch (V-V) and parallel connected zero diodes (D-D), and a direct current intermediate circuit between them, and the said frequency converter uses a current transducer placed in the direct current intermediate circuit, and the analogue current signal composed by it features samples of the measured output currents, and the diverter switches of the frequency converter's upper branch are controlled using the bootstrap method, wherein start-up is initiated by controlling the controllable power semiconductor switch of the lower branch of at least one output phase to a conductive state for one or several periods of time, preferably of approximately 200 &#x3bc;s, at a time.

Method and arrangement for connecting an AC electric motor (M, M, . . .
