An air-conditioning device for conditioning/controlling the temperature of a surface contacted by a user at least occasionally, especially the surface of a vehicle interior component, which can be monitored by means of a corresponding detector device for detecting contact, use, or both. It is provided that the air-conditioning device has at least one air-conditioning layer, which extends at least partially along the surface, at least one companion layer, which extends at least partially along the air-conditioning layer and is connected to the air-conditioning layer at least in some sections in order to form an insertion pocket, and that at least one detector device can be inserted into the insertion pocket.

Air conditioning device for a vehicle interior component

An air-conditioning system for a seat includes a cushion having a cover and two air-conditioned zones proximate a surface facing a seat occupant, and an elongated depression between the zones, the depression having a floor which is recessed with respect to the zones and into which the cover is at least partially drawn into in the direction of the depression floor, the air-conditioned zones being at least partially distanced from the depression. The zones and the depression are connected by a plurality of air-permeable channels, the channels being located between the air-conditioned zones essentially on or above the depression floor. The depression, in the transverse direction, is at least partially air-permeable, despite the cover.

Air conditioning system for a seat

An air conditioned seat with a padded seat surface () and a padded backrest () and with a fan () arranged beneath the seat surface (). The fan () is connected to an air distribution apparatus () in the seat, and includes a flow region () that is open to the environment. The flow region () is located substantially on the side of the fan () facing the seat surface (). The fan inlet () is further environmentally protected by a diffuser () located in the flow region () and forming a slit opening () between a top edge () of the diffuser () and an underside () of the seat.

Air conditioned seat and air conditioning apparatus for a ventilated seat

The present invention is directed towards a method of forming a ventilated seat. More specifically, in one aspect, the present invention is directed towards providing an insert in fluid communications with an air mover and a seating surface, wherein the system optionally includes a thermoelectric device for providing heating or cooling of air flowing through the insert.

Method for ventilating a seat

The present invention relates to a ventilated seat having an insert with a seat portion, and having a flow control layer with first and second ports, a spacer having an inlay and a main portion, and a first fluid barrier where the inlay is substantially isolated from the main portion by a fluid-tight boundary. The present invention also relates to a ventilated seat having an insert with a seat portion and having a first flow control layer with at least one port, a first and a second spacer, and a fluid barrier comprising at least one port. The present invention also relates to a ventilated seat with an insert having a seat portion and having a flow control layer with a port and a plurality of flow holes in the seat portion, a spacer, a fluid barrier and at least one conduit with a plurality of flow holes located adjacent to the seat portion of the flow control layer. The seat also may include a fan in fluid communication with the spacer and a fluid conditioning device. The present invention also relates to methods of ventilating a seat. The method includes providing a thermoelectric device (TED) and conditioning air with the TED to provide heating or cooling and communicating that conditioned air through an insert with either pushing or pulling the condition air through the insert.

Ventilated seat

A vehicle seat with a backrest () that has a backrest cushion () and a rear backrest cover (), and an air-handling device that is associated with the backrest () and is connected to an air distribution device () in the seat. The rear backrest cover () is at least partially air permeable, and covers at least one passage () of the air-handling device (). The air exchanged between the environment and the air-handling device () passes for the most part through the air-permeable regions of the backrest cover ().
