An X-ray emitter has an X-ray tube which contains a vacuum envelope in which an emitter and an anode are disposed. The emitter can be heated by an external flat emitter filament supply. Accordingly the emitter is configured as a filament emitter and an interface circuit is arranged between the filament emitter and the flat emitter filament supply. In this manner, a flat-emitter-based X-ray emitter can be replaced by a filament-emitter-based X-ray emitter in an X-ray emitter system without any configuration changes.

X-ray emitter

An x-ray tube assembly includes an x-ray tube with a vacuum envelope in which an emitter and an anode are arranged. The emitter is configured to be heated by an external coil emitter heating current supply. The emitter is configured as a flat emitter and an adaptation circuit is arranged between the flat emitter and the coil emitter heating current supply. A coil-emitter-based x-ray tube assembly may be replaced by a flat emitter-based x-ray tube assembly without constructional changes.

X-ray tube assembly

The present embodiments relate to a radiation generation unit for a therapy system. The radiation generation unit has a radiation source and support components for the radiation source. The radiation generation unit includes a power source and has a mechanical interface, with which the radiation generation unit may be attached to a stand. Degrees of freedom of movement may easily be implemented using a corresponding movement of the radiation generation unit.

Radiation generation unit

A method for pulsed operation of a linear accelerator includes generating pulses of charged particles. The generating includes emitting particles by a particle source and accelerating the particles in an accelerator device that includes a plurality of linked cavity resonators. The accelerator device is supplied with energy by an energy supply unit. Particle energy is changed solely by varying a number of particles emitted by the particle source per pulse.

Linear accelerator

A therapy system has a therapeutic system that produces x-ray radiation and is directed to a treatment area, and an image-producing imaging system that produces x-ray radiation and is directed to the treatment area. The therapeutic system has a first accelerator for electrons of a first energy that produces respective x-ray radiation, and the imaging system has a second accelerator for electrons of a second energy. A supply system is connected to and operates the first and the second accelerators, and the first and second supply systems have at least one component.

Therapy facility

A method for producing radioactive isotopes for positron emission tomography is provided. The method includes generating radioactive isotopes by the acceleration of a projectile in a linear accelerator that is operative to accelerate at least two different projectiles.
