A pressure control valve for a fuel injection system, in particular a common-rail injection system, for controlling pressure in a high-pressure fuel reservoir, includes a magnetic actuator configured to actuate a spherical valve closing element. The magnetic actuator interacts with a reciprocatingly displaceable armature that is connected to an armature pin in order to transmit a force of the magnetic actuator to the spherical valve closing element. At least one of the spherical valve closing element and the armature pin is axially displaceably guided in a valve piece which forms a valve seat configured to interact with the spherical valve closing element.

Pressure control valve for a fuel injection system

A method for bounce suppression of a valve member operated by a piezo actuator during the closing phase of a valve in an internal combustion engine, having the following steps: partial discharging of the piezo actuator, whereby the valve member is braked even before reaching the valve seat, interruption of the discharge of the piezo actuator, whereby the piezo actuator is upset by the valve member and builds up an electric charge, renewed discharging of the piezo actuator, the residual charge after partial discharge and the charge built up during the charge interruption being at least partially dissipated. It is provided, according to the present invention, briefly to interrupt the discharge process, whereby the piezo actuator absorbs the energy of the valve member and, even before an elastic rebound takes place, the piezo actuator is discharged again, in order to dissipate the energy absorbed by the piezo actuator.

Method for bounce suppression of a valve switched by a piezo actuator

An arrangement is proposed for forming a piezoelectric actuator, which has at least one piezoelectric element that in each case consists of a multi-layer structure of piezoelectric-layers, wherein internal electrodes arranged between the piezoelectric-layers in the direction of the build-up of the layers of the piezoelectric element, have an electrical voltage of different polarity alternately applied to them. Around the piezoelectric element, or in the case of multiple piezoelectric elements positioned in series in the activation direction, around the piezoelectric elements, and at least partially around the actuator head and the actuator foot there is arranged a covering system made from at least one layer of an insulating material. The at least one layer encloses the joints between the piezoelectric element or elements and the actuator head and the actuator foot, forming a seal.

Arrangement with a coated piezoelectric actuator

A fuel injector with a direct needle control for an internal combustion engine, having an actuator, a hydraulic booster, and a nozzle needle guided in a nozzle body and acting on a nozzle needle sealing seat. The hydraulic booster includes a booster piston connected to the actuator and a nozzle needle booster piston connected to the nozzle needle; a booster chamber in the form of an actuator coupler chamber is associated with a pressure surface of the actuator booster piston; and depending on the pressure in the actuator coupler chamber, the nozzle needle is lifted away from the nozzle needle sealing seat, thus initiating an injection. In addition to the actuator booster piston, a control element is provided that is able to execute a stroke motion, is hydraulically coupled to the actuator coupler chamber by means of a first control surface, and is associated with a control chamber by means of a second control surface. The actuator booster piston has a second pressure surface, which, as an additional control surface, is associated with the control chamber.

Fuel injector with direct needle control for an internal combustion engine

The present invention relates to a valve for controlling fluids, which has a piezoelectric actuator that is disposed in an actuator bore. A hydraulic booster and a bellows are also provided. The bellows is embodied such that it can absorb the axial stroke of the piezoelectric actuator. The bellows is connected solidly to the piezoelectric actuator and is also connected solidly to the actuator bore assure a fluid-tight seal of the actuator module relative to the other regions of the valve.
