The invention relates to a method of canceling noise in a signal generated by discrete multi-tone modulation. The noise is caused primarily by the transient of a transmission channel via which the signal is transmitted. The signal comprises a plurality of symbols each of which is preceded by a cyclic prefix. According to the invention, a plurality of parameters is calculated from the digitized sample values of the signal and the approximate transient of the transmission channel is calculated from said plurality of parameters. To cancel the noise the approximately calculated transient is subtracted from the digitized sample values.

In a method for manufacturing an integrated memory circuit, a semiconductor substrate having a front side and a rear side is provided first. The semiconductor substrate is processed on the front side and on the rear side to produce memory cells on the front side and memory cells on the rear side of the semiconductor substrate. Finally, defective memory cells on one side of the semiconductor substrate are replaced by operational memory cells on the other side of the semiconductor substrate by connecting the operational memory cells of the one side of the semiconductor substrate to an input/output circuit of the memory circuit. By loading the semiconductor substrate on both sides, it is possible to either considerably reduce the rejection rate of memory chips or to strongly reduce the chip area of a memory chip or to increase the number of memory cells per specified chip area.

The invention relates to a method for the compensation of interference in a signal generated by discrete multitone modulation. The signal generated by discrete multitone modulation has a multiplicity of carrier frequencies, and each carrier frequency has a signal vector. An error signal vector is generated from a reference signal vector, which is a signal vector from the multiplicity of signal vectors. The error signal vector is added to each of the remaining signal vectors of the multiplicity of signal vectors for the purpose of compensating for interference. Each of the signal vectors of the multiplicity of signal vectors, except for the reference signal vector, is assigned a set of adjustable coefficients by which the error signal vector is multiplied prior to the addition.
