A method collects data in a network having a consumption meter as part of a supply network and containing a sensor. The sensor contains a measuring element which provides raw measurement data corresponding to a physical or physicochemical value or parameter. The sensor contains a communication device and a memory. For the determination of the measurement resolution of the sensor the conditions for generating time stampings using a correlation model are determined in advance. On a basis of the correlation model, time stampings of successive raw measurement data in the sensor are generated, the time stampings are stored in the memory. The time stampings are transmitted over a wired connection and/or a radio link so that on the basis of the time stampings using the correlation model the raw measurement data collected by the measuring element are reconstructed and evaluated. Whereas raw measurement data is used for on-demand network analysis.

Method for collecting data in a network, sensor, consumption meter, temporary receiver and network

A method collects data in a network by operation of a local sensor of a consumption meter where the network is part of a supply network. The network distributes a consumable good. The sensor has a measuring element providing raw measurement data corresponding to a physical or physicochemical value or parameter. The sensor has a wired and/or radio communication device and a memory. For the determination of the measurement resolution of the sensor the conditions for generating time stampings using a correlation model are determined in advance, on the basis of the correlation model time stampings of successive raw measurement data in the sensor are generated. The time stampings are transmitted over a wired connection and/or a radio link so that on the basis of the time stampings using the correlation model the raw measurement data collected by the measuring element are reconstructed and evaluated and used for network monitoring.

Method for collecting data in a network, sensor, consumption meter, data collector and network

Communication between a terminal, such as a consumption meter, installed at a fixed location and a mobile data collector, by way of Wireless M-Bus, via a short-range radio receiver. Data from the terminal is forwarded to the data collector via a bidirectional WPAN interface. The terminal sends a message periodically and unprompted for the communication set-up and subsequently opens a reception window after a period of time. In response, a command or a command sequence is conveyed from the mobile data collector to the receiver and to the terminal in one or more reception windows. The receiver determines the reception time at which the message arrives at the receiver, and the receiver stipulates the time at which the command or command sequence is transmitted onward to the terminal, so that the command or command sequence is received by the terminal within one reception window or multiple reception windows.

The consumption data are transmitted in parallel with the time stamps.

The supply network contains a master in communication with the local sensor via a primary communication path. The meter and communication module are pairable for a wireless local area communication by using communication technology and communication protocol. The communication module and remote station are connectable for a wide area communication by using network technology and network protocol. The communication module includes a protocol converter for converting data to be communicated via the local area communication, communication module and wide area communication between the communication technology and network technology and between the communication protocol and network protocol. A method for operating the meter network pairs the meter and communication module, connects the communication module and remote station, and uses the protocol converter to convert data between the local area communication technology and network technology and between the communication protocol and network protocol.

A method operates a data recording system which has a central station, an intermediate station, and a terminal station. The central station and the intermediate station define a tertiary, two-way communication path and the central station and the intermediate station define a primary, two-way communication path via a radio link. A plurality of messages or message parts which have different validity time limits are generated in the central station on the basis of a command, the plurality of message parts which are valid for a limited time are transmitted from the central station to the intermediate station. The validity of the message parts is checked in the intermediate station, and, if a message part is still valid for transmission from the intermediate station to the terminal station, the message part concerned is transmitted within a message from the intermediate station to the terminal station.

Consumption data are transmitted via a communication system to a receiver, and different keys are provided for different software authorizations. Command authorizations are defined as software authorizations in the consumption data module.
