Connector apparatus electrically connects together a plurality of shielded cables, including a housing containing a chamber including a first opening for receiving one end of a first shielded cable, and at least two second openings receiving the one ends of at least two second shielded cables, respectively. A conductive shield associated with the housing connects together the shielding layers of all of the cables, and a printed circuit board arranged in the housing connects at least one conductor of at least two of the second cables with a corresponding conductor of the first cable.

A junction box assembly includes a support board, a connector supported at one end by the support board, a separate tubular guide sleeve arranged concentrically about the connector, and a cover having an open bottom chamber receiving the connector, and a top wall containing an opening receiving the upper ends of the guide sleeve and the connector, thereby to afford electrical connection to the connector by an associated second connector. The guide sleeve is restrained against rotation relative to the cover, the upper end of the guide sleeve being internally threaded for connection with the externally threaded lock nut on the second connector. The guide sleeve and the cover are formed from different synthetic plastic materials.

Junction box including connectors and surrounding housings

An electrical power distribution device such as a junction box or the like includes a status indicator that also serves not only to indicate the status of energization of a connector mounted in a first housing opening, but also to illuminate a translucent indicia-bearing plate mounted in second housing opening. The housing contains a chamber in which are mounted a light emitting diode that is energized simultaneously with the connector, and a light transmitting member that directs the light produced by the LED toward the second housing opening.

Electrical apparatus having status indicating means

An electrical distributor assembly includes a plug member connected with a socket member that is mounted on, and extends slightly above, the top surface of a distributor housing, characterized by the provision of an axially displaceable protective sleeve mounted concentrically about the plug and socket members. The plug includes an upwardly extending integral cable supporting portion that is also enclosed by the sleeve.

Protective sleeve arrangement for electrical connectors

A distributor is provided for selectively connecting with a plurality of voltage sources a plurality of electrical load devices, such as the sensors or actuators of an electrical and mechanical installation. A pair of voltage supply connectors mounted on a housing include first pins that are connected to continuously supply power from a first voltage source to the internal electronics circuitry of the distributor, and second pins that are connected via a jumper switch to selectively connect a second voltage source with the groups of electrical load devices.

Distributor means for connecting electrical apparatus with a lighting device

A junction box and distributor assembly includes an external connector that is mounted on a distributor device for connection with a mating companion connector that is mounted in an opening contained in a wall of the junction box, whereby remotely located sensors may be connected via the distribution device and the mating connectors with a programmable operating module contained within the junction box. In order to prevent the penetration of moisture into the junction box, a first seal is arranged about the housing opening between the distributor device and the outer surface of the housing wall. A second seal may be provided in compressed relation concentrically between the peripheral surface of the housing opening and the outer peripheral surface of the second connector.
