A magnetic flowmeter () for measuring the flow of a flowing medium having a measuring tube () with a cross section that changes along its length and preferably the cross section in the middle section of the measuring tube () is less than at the beginning and end of the measuring tube (), preferably the cross section of the measuring tube () is rectangular in its middle section and wherein the housing () preferably has a circular cross section. The inlet section () of the measuring tube () is formed of two segments (and), of which a first segment (), in terms of flow direction, has a cross section that increases in the direction of flow and a downstream adjoining second segment () has a cross section that decreases in the direction of flow. Optionally, the outlet section () is similarly formed of two sections ().

Magnetic flowmeter

A magnetic circuit device () for implementing the magnetic circuit of a magnetic-inductive flow meter () has at least one coil () which generates a magnetic field, at least two opposing flat pole elements (), between which, in the installed state, the measurement tube () of the magnetic-inductive flow meter is located, and with at least one magnetically conductive connecting element () for magnetic closure of the magnetic circuit. The cross section of the core () of the coil () and/or of the magnetically conductive connecting elements () is as small as possible. Preferably, the magnetically conductive connecting element or the magnetically conductive connecting elements () are arc-shaped so that the resulting magnetic circuit device () has a ring-shaped outer contour and extensively encompasses at least one of the flat pole elements ().

An electromagnetic flowmeter having a measuring tube, at least one magnetic device and at least two electrodes. The measuring tube having an inlet section with an inlet section terminal cross section, an outlet section with an outlet section terminal cross section, a recess formed between the inlet section and the outlet section with a recess cross section that is wider than the inlet section terminal cross section and the outlet section terminal cross section, and an internal coating positioned in the recess. The layer thickness of the internal coating is chosen to be appropriately thick in order to guarantee electrical insulation and to arrange the internal coating in the recess such that it is protected from damage by flowing measurement fluid.

A fill level switch () for measuring the fill level of a medium in a container (), having a sensor element () for contacting the medium, a sender () for applying an electromagnetic emission signal to the sensor element () and an evaluation unit () for detecting a received signal from the sensor element (). The sensor element () includes at least one cable () for guiding the emission signal. To provide a fill level switch, which is based on a sturdy measuring principle and which allows for reliable cleaning, the fill level switch uses a delay line as the cable () of the sensor element () and the sensor element () has a window () facing the medium in the mounted position of the fill level switch and at least a part of the cable () can be electrically influenced by the medium via the window ().
