A device detects at least one position of at least a part of a printing material while the printing material is transported in a printing machine. The device includes an optical sensor for establishing a distance between a printing machine component and the printing material. The distance established by the optical sensor is temperature-compensated by a computer.

Device for detecting a position of a printing material transported in a printing machine

A printing unit in a sheet-fed printing machine includes a printing cylinder, an upstream transfer cylinder and a downstream transfer cylinder. The transfer cylinders each include a device for decelerating/accelerating a sheet. The device, in particular, includes at least one gripper bar being movable in a substantially radial direction to change the tangential speed of the gripper bar and thus of the sheet. A printing unit of this construction allows the sheets to be transported at a lower speed and at a shorter distance from one another during the printing process, resulting in a better print quality and a higher throughput of the machine. A sheet-fed printing machine including such a printing unit is also provided.

A printing press includes an assembly and a cam mechanism for moving at least one part of the assembly. A cam of the cam mechanism has a curvature course with points, in particular bends or jumps, which are not constantly differentiable within a movement region of the cam. The cam mechanism can include an actuator for the temporal displacement of jolts which are induced by the points that are not constantly differentiable to the at least one part of the assembly. An adaptation of the movement which is produced to the operating state of the printing press is possible, with the result that a considerable reduction can be achieved in vibrations for all printing speeds.

Printing press

In a delivery of a sheet-processing machine, in particular a printing press, provision is made for chain gripper systems for holding the sheets to be transported at the leading and trailing edges thereof. The holding devices are configured such that they can be displaced relative to one another for the purpose of format adjustment. The chain gripper system has a sprocket drive shaft and a sprocket deflection shaft for the chains of the chain gripper system. Here, provision is made for both the sprocket drive shaft and the sprocket deflection shaft to have a clutch.

A sheet delivery has an endless conveyor for conveying printed sheets and a secondary gripper with a gripper bar for holding printed sheets received at their trailing edges from the endless conveyor, to be deposited on a delivery stack. A transmission generates an annular circulatory movement of the gripper bar. A first balance weight and a second balance weight are provided for compensating for interference torques and are braced for rotation in relation to one another by a spring.

Sheet delivery and sheet-processing printing machine

A sheet delivery has an endless conveyor for conveying printed sheets, and a secondary gripper with a gripper bar that receives the printed sheets from the conveyor at their trailing edges and deposits them on a delivery stack. A transmission generates an annular circulatory movement of the gripper bar. The endless conveyor has lower forward strands, running toward the delivery stack, and upper return strands, running away from the delivery stack. The transmission has a first control-cam pair on one side of the endless conveyor and a second control-cam pair on the other side of the endless conveyor and the two control-cam pairs are connected to one another via a common shaft. The shaft is disposed above the return strands.

In a device for the transport of sheets in a sheet-processing machine, preferably a printing press, provision is made to transport the sheets on chain-guided gripper bars. The gripper bars are fixed respectively to two chain links arranged indirectly beside each other. The forces acting on the gripper bars are more evenly distributed.

A sheet delivery includes an endless conveyor for conveying printed sheets, and also comprises a secondary gripper with a gripper bar by way of which the printed sheets are received from the conveyor at their trailing edges and deposited on a delivery stack. A coupler transmission generates an annular circulatory movement of the gripper bar. The coupler transmission has criss-crossing oscillating cranks.

In the case of a sheet-transporting gripper configuration in a sheet-processing machine, e.g. printing machine, it is provided that a low-mass gripper housing contains thin side walls enclosing a gripper shaft such that imaginary extensions of leaf springs provided intersect at a point on a straight line which passes through gripper tips and a gripper-shaft axis. The point of intersection is located on the far side of the gripper-shaft axis, as seen from the gripper tips.

Sheet-transporting apparatus

A sheet delivery for a press has a linear guide in which a single holding crossmember (e.g., a gripper bar) is mounted such that it can be moved to and fro periodically. The holding crossmember is mounted in a further linear guide such that it can be moved to and fro periodically along the further linear guide axis as well. The axes of the linear guides are aligned at an angle to each other.

Sheet delivery for a printing press

A machine for processing a sheet of printing material contains a first chain conveyor having a first gripper bar for holding a leading edge of the sheet, and a second chain conveyor having a rear gripper bar for simultaneously holding a trailing end of the sheet. A processing device is assigned to the chain conveyors for processing the sheet. A distance changing device is provided for temporarily reducing a gripper distance between the two gripper bars and, consequently, producing a sheet sag required for the processing of the sheet carried out by the processing device. The distance changing device defines a first circulation path of the front gripper bar, determined by the first chain conveyor, and a second circulation path of the rear gripper bar, determined by the second chain conveyor, running locally differently from each other. The processing device can be, for example, a sheet smoother.

Sheet supporting elements assigned to the shell segments are reversibly deformed by pivoting the shell segments. A machine for processing sheets of printing material has a cylinder for transporting the sheets and sheet supports which are mounted such that they can be rotated about a sheet support axis of rotation and in each case contain supporting segments for pressing the sheets onto the cylinder. The supporting segments are mounted such that they can be pivoted as desired into an active position and into a passive position about pivot axes that are skewed relative to the sheet support axis of rotation or about rotary joints determining the pivot axes.
