A breath alcohol measurement device has a sample collector () with a sample inlet () configured for a contactless introduction of a breath sample. A measurement unit () has a sensor () that generates a measurement signal based on an alcohol content in the breath sample. A control and evaluation unit () determines the alcohol content based on the measurement signal and transmits a result-specific signal to an output unit (). Some of the breath sample provided into the sample inlet () is applied, at least intermittently via a main flow duct (), to the sensor () via a measurement gas duct () that is connected via an outlet to the environment (). Between the sample inlet () and the outlet of the main flow duct there is a further outflow opening () through which some of the breath sample introduced into the sample inlet exits into the environment.

Breath alcohol measurement with contactless sample collection

A system, for the transcutaneous measurement of a substance concentration, preferably alcohol, in blood, includes a light source (); a detector device (); an optical device ('), with an inlet (), an outlet () and an exit opening (); and a contact surface element () with a contact surface (). Measuring radiation emitted by the light source () reaches the inlet () and exits the exit opening (), to the contact surface (). A head protection device has a distance-measuring device with a spatial directional characteristic, a light beam generation device as well as at least one control unit. The distance-measuring device is configured to determine distance information relative to a focusing range of the spatial directional characteristic and to provide the determined distance information to the control unit. The light beam generation device is configured to generate a light beam in the direction of the focusing range. The control unit provides a control signal, which indicates a request for a brightness modulation frequency of the light beam as a function of the distance information, to the light beam generation device on the basis of the distance information in a first operating mode.

Calibrating device for breath alcohol measuring devices

A device has a measuring device, in particular an alcohol-measuring device (), for measuring the state of intoxication of a test subject and for generating a corresponding measured value. A camera () is provided for recording an image with the face of the test subject. A control unit () is configured to store the measured value together with the image in a memory unit (). An analyzer () is configured such that the analyzer can identify a face and/or a defined, fixed pattern in the image. A follow-up action is triggered by the analyzer () when a face and/or pattern could not be identified.

Device for measuring the state of intoxication of a test subject

A device for preventing a vehicle from being started includes a breath gas analyzer (), which is arranged within the vehicle and is designed to detect the breath alcohol content of an operator. A repeated test can be performed, without compromising the operator, with a control unit (), which is connected to the breath gas analyzer (), a motion sensor () and an ignition system () of the vehicle, to request a breath alcohol test at presettable times tin such a way that the breath alcohol test is performed with the vehicle stopped. The control unit () is also designed to preset, beginning from the time t, a time interval as a latency period twithin which the vehicle must be stopped.

Device and process for giving a breath sample with a breath alcohol interlock device

A device and a process are provided for recognizing a correct use of an alcohol measuring device by a test subject. At least one alcohol measuring device is provided with a signal transmitter, an analysis and control unit and a camera unit. An image field of the camera unit is divided into an inner image field area and an outer image field area. The inner image field area detects at least the face area of the test subject. The camera unit records changes at a boundary between the inner image field area and the outer image field area. A signal sent by the signal transmitter in the inner image field area can be detected by the camera unit.

Device and process for recognizing a correct use of an alcohol measuring device

An interlock system for a vehicle includes a sampling device () that receives a sufficient quantity of a body fluid sample from a person to be tested; a read-out unit () detecting substances that are contained in the body fluid sample; and an evaluating unit () evaluating the substances detected by the read-out unit (), so that respective concentrations of the detected substances can be obtained. The detection and evaluation of the substances in the body fluid is effected by chemical, immunochemical, enzymatic, electrochemical or optical analytical methods. The quantity of body fluid delivered by the person to be tested is automatically detected and monitored. A control device () is coupled to the evaluating unit () and prevents the start process of the vehicle if an insufficient quantity of body fluid is present or if at least one of the substance concentrations is above a predetermined concentration limit value.

Drug interlock system having a safety function

An interlock system () for a vehicle is provided with an alcohol tester (), which is designed to measure the alcohol level of a driver of the vehicle. A control device () is coupled with the alcohol tester () and is designed to make it possible to start the vehicle or to prevent the vehicle from being started depending on the measured alcohol level. A transceiver module () is coupled with the control device () and is designed to send data to a remotely located control system in a wireless manner or to receive data from said control system in a wireless manner. The transceiver module () is designed, furthermore, to release the control device () in response to data received in a wireless manner in order to make it possible to start the vehicle regardless of the operating state of the control device.

Alcohol interlock system with wireless data transmission and safety function

The invention provides a system and process in which more than only one category of information must be made available in an optically simultaneously recognizable form to a person in a portable system () for protecting and/or guiding persons in dangerous situations, firefighters or rescue teams in buildings. The system includes an infrared camera () for recording data, especially heat image data; an energy supply device, especially a battery; at least one interface () for transmitting data; and at least one display device (), especially a monitor and/or a warning light, for visually displaying data. At least one exit finder () and/or at least one gas sensor () and/or at least one motion detector is also provided.
