The present invention relates to a method as well as a blood treatment unit for the implementation of this method for the best possible attainment of a predetermined substitution target during the ultrafiltration of blood. According to the invention, a method and a blood treatment unit for the implementation of the method is provided, wherein it is determined by detection of pressure measurement values in the blood treatment unit whether the calculated substitution target is achieved at the end of the dialysis session or not and in case of the result that the calculated substitution target cannot be achieved with the current dialysis parameters, an adjustment of the flow rate of blood, dialysate and/or substituate is performed in order to achieve the substitution target for a given treatment time in an optimal way or modify the treatment time for the given substitution target as little as possible.

Blood ultrafiltration substitution target method and device

The invention describes an apparatus for extracorporeal blood treatment with a dialyzer which is separated by a semipermeable membrane in to a first and second chamber (), wherein the first chamber () is arrange in a dialysate pathway and the second chamber () is connectable to the blood circulation of a patient by means of a blood supply conduit () and a blood return conduit (), an inlet () for fresh dialysate, an outlet () for spent dialysate, a measuring device () arranged in the outlet (), wherein said measuring device () has at least one radiation source consisting of several light sources () for electromagnetic radiation. The invention is characterized in that the measuring device () is designed to generate substantially monochromatic electromagnetic radiation of different wavelengths, and to lead only one of these wavelength (at the same time) though the outlet () for spent dialysate, wherein at least one detector system () is provided for detection of the intensity or the absorption of the substantially monochromatic electromagnetic radiation passing through the outlet () for spent dialysate.

Apparatus for extracorporeal blood treatment

The medical apparatus has lines that are connected to the vascular system of a patient. To ensure that an accidental escape of blood is identified, a camera is provided and is directed at the extracorporeal blood circuit of the patient. The image signals from the camera are processed in the sense that the color of blood and/or its arrangement in the image area in the camera image is determined, wherein the size of the recorded image area with the color of blood is also evaluated. In this way, an extracorporeal blood loss can be detected and signaled automatically.

Blood treatment system

A dialysis machine that monitors an elapsed time and a number of accumulated hours during a current servicing interval is disclosed. The machine executes a machine-servicing algorithm on at least the elapsed time and the accumulated operating hours to generate a projected servicing interval duration. A servicing event indicator displays servicing event schedule information based on the projected servicing interval duration. A transfusion pump, similarly equipped, is also provided.

A dialysis station including several patient places each of which is provided with a dialyzer and a video terminal. In an internal data network, the video terminals are interlinked with each other and with a server including a data base. At a physician place, the treatment course can be followed for each patient place. If necessary, the physician may intervene and prescribe a new or changed medication appearing on the video terminal of the patient place. After having administered the medicine, the nurse acknowledges the administration of the medicine. The dialogue taking place between physician and nurse is documented in the scope of the treatment course.
