One example method for producing a component from organic sheets may comprise placing a first organic sheet and a second organic sheet next to one another to form a component preform, forming at least one overlapping joining zone by tacking the first and second organic sheets together with a connecting part in the form of a third organic sheet, transferring the component preform to a joining tool, using the joining tool to form a joined component by connecting the organic sheets through melting and compression in the overlapping joining zone, and consolidating the joined component at least in the zone of the overlapping joining zone.

Method for producing a component from organic sheets

A method for producing a structural component for a vehicle body, the method includes forming a flat carrier material made of a metal, a thermoplastic material and/or a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material to give a three-dimensional component, and providing a supporting material made of a thermoplastic material, such that the carrier material and the supporting material form an integral material composite. The material composite made up of the carrier material and the supporting material is produced before the carrier material is formed. The material composite is heated before the forming in order to make forming of the thermoplastic material possible. A rib structure is impressed into the supporting material during the forming of the material composite, and the temperature of the three-dimensional component having the rib structure is controlled, it preferably being cooled.

Method for producing a structural component, particularly for a vehicle body

Longitudinal members for motor vehicles may generally include a supporting element that is releasably connectable to an energy absorption mechanism. The supporting element may typically include a joining zone that can be used to secure the supporting element to one or more chassis or drive components of the motor vehicle. The supporting element and the energy absorption mechanism may be comprised of fiber-reinforced plastic. More specifically, the supporting element may be comprised of a plurality of length portions having different fiber orientations. For example, a first length portion may have fibers oriented substantially parallel to a horizontal longitudinal plane about which the supporting element is positioned, whereas a second length portion between the first length portion and the energy absorption mechanism may have intersecting fibers oriented oblique to the horizontal longitudinal plane.

The present disclosure relates to a protective apparatus that can be positioned along an underside of a motor vehicle and, in many cases, near a front or rear region of the motor vehicle. The protective apparatus may include an underbody made from fiber-reinforced plastic for protecting assemblies or components arranged above it against damage as a consequence of stone chipping or ground contact. Further, the underbody may have three-dimensionally structured regions for increasing its rigidity, and the underbody may be designed to absorb chassis and/or crash loads and may include integrated holders for movably attaching chassis links.

Protective apparatus for arranging in the front or rear region of a motor vehicle, having an underbody made from fiber reinforced plastic

The object of the present invention is a layered semi-finished product having a layer sequence containing at least one layer of an unconsolidated fabric of reinforcing fibers. At reduced pressure, this layer sequence is arranged between a top and a bottom film connected to each other along their periphery in a pressure-retaining manner. In advantageous modifications of the layered semi-finished product according to the invention, the preforming of the semi-finished, as well as the inclusion of metallic inserts or other components into said semi-finished is intended. Furthermore, a method for producing the layered semi-finished product according to the invention is described.
