The present disclosure generally relates to a method for testing a telecommunication standard-based positioning, navigation, and timing system and a test device. The system includes the test device. Radio signals from at least three different transmitters are received by the test device. Each transmitter transmits a radio signal according to the telecommunication standard. An assessed position of the test device is determined based on the radio signals received by the test device. The position of the mobile device is determined by the test device additionally to the assessed position. The assessed position is compared with the determined position.

Method for testing a telecommunication standard-based positioning, navigation, and timing system and test device

A terrestrial positioning system includes a mobile terrestrial transmitter including a local clock source and an inertial measurement unit, and a synchronization master including a memory configured to store initially known positioning information of the terrestrial transmitter. The terrestrial transmitter determines altered positioning information of the terrestrial transmitter using the first IMU and broadcasting a positioning signal including a timestamp. The synchronization master calculates an expected time of flight of the received positioning signal based on the determined altered positioning information and the stored initially known positioning information of the terrestrial transmitter, to determine a first deviation of the actual time of flight determined from the timestamp and the actual reception time of the received positioning signal with respect to the calculated expected time of flight and to instruct the terrestrial transmitter to delay or prepone the broadcast of the positioning signal.

Terrestrial positioning system and method for improved terrestrial positioning

A test system for testing the positioning functionality of a device under test (DUT) is provided. The test system includes a high precision global navigation satellite system (GNSS) simulator configured to simulate real-time kinematic (RTK) signals. The test system further includes a sensor simulator configured to simulate ideal sensor signals, and a sensor error model unit. The sensor error model unit is further configured to simulate sensor errors based on a real sensor datasheet. The simulated ideal sensor signals are combined with the simulated sensor errors to form real simulation signals.

A measuring device serves the purpose of testing a location tracking of a device under test. The measuring device comprises a global navigation satellite system simulator adapted to wirelessly transmit a radio frequency global navigation satellite system signal to a device under test, and a base station simulator adapted to wirelessly transmit a real-time kinematic signal to the device under test. Said signal generator comprises a broadcasting unit configured to broadcast a signal and a controller unit configured to send a composite signal to the broadcasting unit.
