A computed tomography device comprises: a gantry with an opening and a radiation protection apparatus configured to cover the opening, wherein the opening is configured to receive an examination object introduced into the opening along a system axis of the gantry; wherein the radiation protection apparatus has a radiation protection curtain, a curtain mounting and a pivot apparatus; wherein the curtain mounting has a bar-shaped area; wherein an upper edge of the radiation protection curtain is attached to the bar-shaped area such that the radiation protection curtain is stretched along the bar-shaped area and hangs down from the bar-shaped area; and wherein the curtain mounting is pivotably supported relative to the gantry about a pivot axis via the pivot apparatus.

A storage medium, computer program product, data server, imaging device, telemedicine system and method are for providing at least one image dataset. In an embodiment, the method includes processing at least one raw image dataset, acquired from a patient by an imaging device of a mobile unit, to create a processed image dataset; generating a reduced image dataset by reducing an amount of data of the processed image dataset; and storing at least one of the at least one raw image dataset, the processed image dataset and the reduced image dataset on a data server, the data server being part of the mobile unit and being connected to a network.

A method is for actuating a medical imaging device for generating a second three-dimensional image dataset including a target region in a region of interest of a patient with a functional impairment. The method includes providing a first three-dimensional image dataset including the region of interest of the patient; identifying the target region based on the first three-dimensional image dataset, a partial region of the region of interest with the functional impairment being determined; determining an imaging parameter for generating the second three-dimensional image dataset based on the identified target region; and actuating the medical imaging device based on the imaging parameter for the generation of the second three-dimensional image dataset.

A computed tomography device includes, in an embodiment, a gantry including a tunnel-shaped opening, an examination object being introducible into the tunnel-shaped opening for an examination via the computed tomography device; and a radiation protection apparatus to cover the tunnel-shaped opening, the radiation protection apparatus including a first connector and the gantry includes a second connector. In an embodiment, a detachable connection is formable via the first connector and the second connector, to counteract removal of the radiation protection apparatus from the tunnel-shaped opening.

A medical imaging apparatus for computer tomography, includes a first housing frame; a scanning section, movably disposed in an axial direction with respect to the first housing frame; and driving device(s). The scanning section includes an essentially toroidal scanning section housing including at least one uncovered axial surface, and a radiation source and a radiation detector, rotatably disposed inside of the essentially toroidal scanning section housing. The driving device(s) are configured to move the scanning section along an axial direction with respect to the first housing frame to perform a telescopic motion of the radiation source and radiation detector, during an operation of the medical imaging apparatus. The at least one uncovered axial surface of the essentially toroidal scanning section housing is movable along the axial direction.

A method is disclosed for providing image data to a central unit. In an embodiment, the method includes acquiring image data using a mobile imaging device, the mobile imaging device being a mobile communication device or being connected to a mobile communication device; determining bandwidth information relating to a locally available bandwidth for a radio network or multiple separate radio networks; at least one of selecting a communication location for the mobile communication device based on the bandwidth information determined, and selecting the radio network or multiple separate radio networks based on the bandwidth information determined; and at least one of moving the mobile communication device to the selected communication location selected, and using the radio network or multiple separate radio networks selected to transfer the image data to the central unit.

Method for providing image data to a central unit

A computed tomography system has an x-ray source, x-ray detector, a gantry, and a controller configured to automatically initiate an air-calibration using the source and detector with air in an air space and to determine gain values for channels of the detector from the automatically initiated air-calibration. A computed tomography system having a patient bore, a controller, an x-ray source, and a detector is calibrated by receiving a setting for a medical scan to be performed by the computed tomography system for a particular patient, the setting being one of a plurality of optional values, scanning air and not the patient in the patient bore with the source and the detector using the setting, determining a gain value based on the scanning with the setting and not the other optional values, and scanning the patient with the source and the detector using the setting and the gain value.

Automatic air-calibration

A jumpseat for an emergency transport vehicle having a patient compartment that includes a medical scanning device and a patient stretcher having a stretcher axis. The jumpseat includes a post element rotatably attached to a floor portion of the patient compartment, wherein the floor portion is located in a clearance space between the scanning device and a head end of the stretcher. The jumpseat also includes a seating element rotatably attached to the post element. The post and seating elements are moveable between a stowed position wherein the post element and seating element are substantially horizontal and a deployed position wherein the post element is substantially vertical and the seating element is substantially horizontal and located in the clearance space and in-line with a patient's body axis.
