Display of a system state of a treatment device for microscopic samples

The present disclosure relates to a method for automatically embedding at least one tissue sample. A tissue embedding apparatus () can be provided having an input unit (), an image acquisition unit (), an embedding unit (), at least one output unit (), and a control unit (). A cassette () containing at least one tissue sample () can be transferred to the input unit () of the tissue embedding apparatus (). At least one image of the tissue sample () and/or at least one image of the cassette () may be acquired using the image acquisition unit (). The at least one image acquired of the tissue sample () and/or of the cassette () may be evaluated. Further processing the tissue sample () in the tissue embedding apparatus () can be performed as a function of the image evaluation.

Tissue embedding apparatus, and method for operating a tissue embedding apparatus

The invention relates to a tissue embedding apparatus () for automatic embedding at least one tissue sample (). Said tissue embedding device () comprises an input unit (), an image recording unit (), an embedding unit (), at least one output unit (), and a control unit (). A cassette () containing at least one tissue sample () can be transferred to the input unit () of the tissue embedding device (). The embedding unit () allows the tissue sample () to be embedded in an embedding medium, while the at least one output unit () allows the embedded tissue sample to be output. The image recording unit () makes it possible to record at least one image of the tissue sample (). In order to be able to embed tissue in an automated manner also when different cassettes are used, a tissue embedding device () according to the invention is characterized in that the recorded image of the tissue sample () can be evaluated while further processing of the tissue sample () in the tissue embedding device () can be predefined in accordance with the evaluation of the image.

The present invention relates to a microtome () having functional regions to be operated manually, in particular a sample holder (), a cutting device (), a section removal system (), and a section collection pan (). A microtome () is described in which the particularly firm contact or adhesion of sectioning waste fragments and, in particular, of thin sections can be at least largely avoided. For this purpose, the microtome () according to the present invention is characterized in that the components of the microtome () that can be brought into contact with paraffin sections are embodied in electrically conductive fashion.

A tissue infiltration apparatus () for specimens present in cassettes () comprises at least two liquid containers () and a transport apparatus (). Multiple cassettes () are receivable in a transport basket (). The transport apparatus () is configured in such a way that at least two transport baskets () are transportable in the tissue infiltration apparatus (). A transport basket () is deliverable to, and/or movable away from, a liquid container () with the transport apparatus (). An execution sequence () in which the transport baskets () pass through the liquid containers () is definable. To enable accelerated or preferred processing of a transport basket () with the tissue infiltration apparatus (), at least one means () is provided with which the order of two transport baskets () is definably modifiable.

A tissue infiltration apparatus () for specimens present in cassettes (). comprises at least two liquid containers () and a transport apparatus (). A liquid having a definable property is introducible into a liquid container (). Multiple cassettes () are receivable in a transport basket (). The transport apparatus () is configured in such a way that with it, at least two transport baskets () are transportable in the tissue infiltration apparatus (). A transport basket () is deliverable to a liquid container () and/or movable away from a liquid container () with the transport apparatus (). An execution sequence () in which the transport baskets () pass through the liquid containers () of the tissue infiltration apparatus () is definable. To enable accelerated or preferred processing of a transport basket () with the tissue infiltration apparatus (), but without using an additional liquid container provided only for that purpose, at least one means () is provided with which the order of two transport baskets () is definably modifiable.

Tissue infiltration apparatus

A method for controlling a tissue processor and a tissue processor for processing tissue samples is described. A retort is provided including a cover that can be opened and closed by an operator. The retort cover is closed prior to tissue processing. The actuation state of a first and a second operating element can be determined. An operator is prompted to confirm unlocking of the closed retort cover by actuating a second operating element. The tissue processing is interrupted when an actuation of the second operating element is determined and the closed retort cover is unlocked and is continued after the retort cover is once again locked. After having completed tissue processing the retort cover is unlocked. By means of the described method and tissue processor improper intervention during ongoing tissue processing is prevented.

Method for controlling a tissue processor and tissue processor

A tissue processor () is described, having a retort () for processing histological samples with different reagents, having multiple reagent reservoir vessels (), and having a conduit system and a control device () for delivering reagents out of the reagent reservoir vessels () into the retort (). A suction conduit () projects into each reagent reservoir vessel () through the vessel opening () for reagent withdrawal. A closure system () having an externally tapered and internally hollow closure plug () is provided for closing off the vessel opening (). The suction conduit () is guided through a cavity () of the closure plug () for reagent withdrawal.

Tissue processor

A microtome (), having a knife () for sectioning a specimen () for subsequent microscopic examination, is described. The microtome () comprises a cooled specimen holder () for receiving the specimen (), the specimen holder () being connected to a coolant circuit (). Additionally associated with the specimen holder () is a cooled thermal conduction plate () that can be placed over the specimen ().

An automatic stainer for staining objects, arranged on slides for microscopic examination is described. The automatic stainer has multiple reagent containers arranged one behind another for treating the objects. The slides pass through the reagent containers in succession, a transport basket for receiving multiple slides being provided. Multiple transport baskets can be received simultaneously in respective different reagent containers, and are simultaneously lifted out of the respective reagent container by way of a motorized transport mechanism having a lifting device and are respectively transported on into an adjacent reagent container. A removal station that has a collecting reagent container for the simultaneous reception of multiple transport baskets is arranged at the end of the row of reagent containers.
