A CT system for scanning a patient is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the system includes a tube/detector system, which can be set by a control device in respect of tube voltage and/or dose power; a patient couch, which can be displaced in a controlled fashion at least in the direction of a system axis; and a computer system, which can control the CT system. In at least one embodiment, the system includes an evaluation unit for a prescribed logical decision tree, which is integrated into the computer system, and which determines examination and scan parameters for the CT system on the basis of the input of at least one patient parameter described in a parameter list and operates the CT system using these examination and scan parameters.

A system and method for linking volumes of interest (VOIs) across timepoints are provided. The method comprises: loading an image dataset of a first timepoint and an image dataset of a second timepoint; registering the image dataset of the first timepoint and the image dataset of the second timepoint; displaying the image dataset of the first timepoint and the image dataset of the second timepoint; selecting a VOI in the image dataset of the first timepoint and the image dataset of the second timepoint; and linking the VOIs in the image dataset of the first timepoint and the image dataset of the second timepoint.

A patient positioning system for positioning a patient relative to radiographic equipment. The system includes: a 3D optical imaging system for optically scanning the patient, such 3D optical imaging system having a focal plane and providing, for each position on the object, data representative of the intensity of reflected energy received by the system from such position and data representative of distance from such position on the object to the focal plane; a table apparatus for supporting the patient and for moving the table relative to the radiographic equipment in response to positioning signals; and a processor responsive to data from the radiographic equipment and the data from the a 3D optical imaging system for producing the positioning signals. The system enables a method for displaying temporal changes in a patient positioned with a bore of radiographic equipment.

A system and method for monitoring disease progression or response to therapy using multi-modal visualization are provided. The method comprises: selecting a first image dataset of a first timepoint; loading the first image dataset of the first timepoint; selecting a second image dataset of a second timepoint; loading the second image dataset of the second timepoint; registering the first image dataset of the first timepoint and the second image dataset of the second timepoint; and displaying the first image dataset of the first timepoint and the second image dataset of the second timepoint.
