A surgical fixation system can include a fixation device, a loop connected to the fixation device, a graft carried by the loop, and a reinforcement material. Surgical fixation systems can be used in various tissue reconstruction procedures, including but not limited to, ACL and PCL reconstructions. The graft and the reinforcement material may be tensioned independently of one another to avoid stress shielding the graft.

This disclosure relates to surgical fixation systems and methods. A surgical fixation system can include a fixation device, a loop connected to the fixation device, a graft carried by the loop, and a reinforcement material. Surgical fixation systems can be used in various tissue reconstruction procedures, including but not limited to, ACL and PCL reconstructions. The graft and the reinforcement material may be tensioned independently of one another to avoid stress shielding the graft.

A humeral component of a shoulder prosthesis encloses a stem module which has a shank and an upper shank portion with a stem support surface. A joint adapter is adapted to hold either a liner or a spherical cap. The joint adapter has an adapter support surface which interfaces with the stem support surface. Further, the stem support surface and the adapter support surface have corresponding radial arc shaped sections which allow positioning of the joint adapter against the stem module at different inclination angles. For fastening the joint adapter to the stem module, a bolt or screw is provided.

An arthroscopic method and apparatus for implanting a suture anchor into tissue using a cannulated tissue-shifting guide. Tissue at a repair site is secured with a cannulated tissue-shifting guide. Suture material is appended to a suture anchor. The suture anchor is attached to a device driver and installed through the cannulated tissue-shifting guide at the repair site and into bone. A power drill can be attached to the device driver and used to drive the suture anchor during installation.

An arthroscopic method and apparatus for implanting a suture fixation device or other appliance into tissue using a hollow cannulated grasper. Tissue at a repair site is secured with a hollow grasper. Suture material is appended to a suture anchor. The suture anchor or other appliance is attached to a device driver and installed through the hollow grasper into the repair site, where it is drilled into bone.
