Various embodiments include a method for the production of a sensor for an exhaust gas stream of an internal combustion engine, wherein the sensor comprises a first electrode and a second electrode. The method comprises: arranging a glass solder in a mold substantially between and substantially insulating the first electrode and the second electrode; arranging an insulating element in the mold in contact with a free surface of the glass solder; and finish molding the glass solder into a glass insulator together with the insulating element in a predetermined position relative to the first electrode and the second electrode. The insulating element shapes the glass insulator during the finish molding and at least partially isolates the glass insulator from the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine during a measuring operation of the sensor.

A lever device for a fuel injection valve includes a housing with a housing recess, at least one lever element arranged in the housing recess, a drive element arranged in the housing recess and coupled to the lever element(s) in order to act upon said at least one lever element in a direction of a force-action axis, and an output element arranged in the housing recess and coupled to the lever element(s) such that this output element is moveable in the force-action axis direction by the at least one lever element. A lever device for a fuel injection valve includes a housing with a housing recess, at least one lever element arranged in the housing recess and having a coupling section coupled to a section of the housing, a drive element arranged in the housing recess and coupled to the at least one lever element to act upon the at least one lever element in the direction of a force-action axis, and an output element arranged in the housing recess and coupled to the at least one lever element such that the output element may be moved in the force-action axis direction by the at least one lever element. An actuator for actuating a fuel injection valve has a piezoactuator, enclosed in an actuator housing unit (). The housing unit has a cylindrical actuator housing () which is elongate in its axial direction (A) and at least partially encased by an extruded plastic coat. The actuator housing unit (), in its encased area, is provided with a ventilation aperture () in which a ventilation element () produced from a microporous material is disposed.

In a method for pretreating a piezoelectric ceramic () and a method for adjusting an injection valve (), the piezoelectric ceramic () is exposed to environmental conditions, leading to a reduction of polarization and also a reduction of the length of the ceramic (). The obtained length exhibits a greater long-term stability due to said adjusting phase. Consequently, the injection valve () can be re-adjusted before use. As a result, renewed adjustment thereof is required only after a long period in service.

Method for pretreating a piezoelectric ceramic and method for adjusting an injection valve

A method is described for improving the long-term stability of a piezoelectric actuator encased in a potting compound containing or forming hydrogen atoms. Oxygen is contained in the piezoelectric actuator's piezoelectric ceramic. Appropriate means are employed so that unsaturated bonds of the hydrogen in the potting compound will release less oxygen from the piezoelectric ceramic. One means consists in reducing the concentration of hydrogen in the potting compound, with appropriate thermal processes as a result of which the concentration of hydrogen will be reduced to below a predefined threshold being applied after the piezoelectric actuator has been encased in the potting compound. Means that form bonds with the hydrogen in the potting compound or duct oxygen thereto are provided in further embodiments.
