A hydraulic unit for an electronically slip-controllable power brake system of a motor vehicle. A cuboidal housing block is equipped with components for generating a braking pressure and for open- or closed-loop control thereof. On a motor side of the housing block, a motor is fastened to drive a braking pressure generator, while on a reservoir side, a reservoir is provided to supply the vehicle brake system with a pressure medium. The reservoir has at least one protruding fastening peg, which projects into a recess open to the outside on the housing block. Using a retaining pin inserted into a transverse bore of the housing block and passing through this recess, the reservoir is anchored to the housing block. The transverse bore, open on the motor side of the housing block, is in a flat portion in which a pin head of the retaining pin lies without the pin head protruding axially beyond a motor side of the housing block.

A power piston in a power cylinder borehole of a hydraulic block of a hydraulic power unit of a hydraulic power vehicle braking system is only guided radially in an axially delimited guide section. The power cylinder borehole is configured with a larger diameter axially outside the guide section. A brake fluid channel extends through the guide section up to an opening of a brake fluid line.

To extend a power cylinder bore in a hydraulic block of a power brake system, a cylinder cover, which is in the form of a cylinder tube and is closed at one end, is fastened by means of a circumferential caulking in a fastening groove of the hydraulic block which encloses the power cylinder bore. An interference fit of a fastening flange of the cylinder cover in the fastening groove reliably seals the cylinder cover against the hydraulic block in a pressure-proof manner.

A pivot bearing of a worm gear for displacing the piston is fixed at the bushing.
