A method for manufacturing a shaped article comprising the step of cutting a shaped article from a first article; wherein as the shaped article is cut from the first article the shaped article's cross-section is deformed and wherein the first article's cross-section is shaped such that it compensates for the deformation during the cutting step so as to achieve a shaped article with a desired cross-section.
