A base body of a computed tomography drum is disclosed. In an embodiment, the base body includes at least the following components: a base plate, an outer ring and an inner ring. The inner ring is arranged concentrically with the outer ring. The outer ring and the inner ring are arranged on the base plate. At least two of the components are configured as separately producible components. Two of the separately producible components are connected to one another by way of at least one of: bonding, welding, riveting, clinching, clinch-bonding and/or rivet-bonding.

An X-ray stand includes a device that compensates for distortions caused by weight. The stand includes a horizontal bracket. The device for distortion compensation includes an inclination-angle transmitter that generates an inclination signal as a function of an inclination angle of the bracket. The device also includes a control device that receives the inclination signal from the inclination-angle transmitter, a motor drive that is activated by the control device, and an adjustment device that is driven by the motor drive and is configured to adjust the inclination angle of the bracket. The control device activates the motor drive such that any deviation of the inclination angle of the bracket from a predefined inclination angle is reduced.

A medical imaging device includes a gripping module having at least a first holding grip and a second holding grip. The first holding grip and the second holding grip are configured for holding by a patient during an image recording. A control unit is arranged on the medical imaging device. The control unit is configured to control an automatic movement of the holding grips. As a result, manual operation of the holding grips by medical operators may be avoided, thereby simplifying and accelerating the process of recording images.

A force compensating device includes a force generating unit configured for generating a compensating force that at least partially counteracts a tractive force acting on the force compensating device. The device includes at least one safety unit that is rotatable about a first axis of rotation and which, in the event of a malfunction of the force generating unit, can be moved by the force generating unit from an operating position to a locked position. The safety unit includes a first element and a second element that are rotatably connected to each other at a second axis of rotation, and at least one locking unit that blocks rotational movement of the safety unit from the locked position back to the operating position when the safety unit has been triggered due to a malfunction. A two-part safety unit in combination with the locking unit allows the safety unit to trigger and remain triggered in all fault situations. The force compensating device may be used in a medical system.

The present embodiments relate to a braking apparatus, in particular for slowing down a carriage, with a brake pad, which is formed using a magnetic material, at least one first spring to press the brake pad onto a surface for the purposes of braking and an electromagnet. The brake pad, the at least one first spring and the electromagnet are disposed and embodied in such a manner that when current flows through the electromagnet a force acts on the brake pad by way of the magnetic material, compensating for the action of the at least one first spring on the brake pad in such a manner that the brake pad assumes a position, in which braking cannot take place due to the pressure of the brake pad. The braking apparatus allows braking independently of the material characteristics of the environment in which the braking apparatus is deployed.

A carriage that can be attached to and move on a rail is provided. The carriage has a contact area that supports a cable connection, for example, for a power supply. An end section of the contact area is designed so as to fold down on removal of a pressure exerted by a section of the cable connection lying thereon, so that as a result the carriage is contracted.
