A fuel injection valve, in particular a high-pressure injection valve for the direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of a compressed mixture, externally ignited internal combustion engine, has in a guide and seat area provided at the downstream end of the valve which area is formed by three disk-shaped elements. A swirl element is nested between a guide element and a valve seat element. The guide element, which can move radially in the assembled valve and which has an inner guide opening, serves to guide an axially movable valve needle which extends through it, while a valve closing section of the valve needle acts in concert with a valve seat surface of the valve seat element. The guide element is spring-loaded through a compression spring which acts upon it.

Fuel injection valve

In known methods for producing rotationally symmetrical valve seat faces, the valve closing body is brought into contact with the valve seat face of the valve seat body, set into a rotary motion, and set parallel to the rotary axis into an oscillating motion of high frequency. When the valve is assembled, care must then be taken that this pairing of the valve closing body and the valve seat body is preserved. In the novel method, the valve seat body is inserted into a receiving body and fixed by means of a tappet. A spherical tool body engages the valve seat face of the valve seat body with a contact pressure force and rotates in a rotary direction that is opposite a rotary direction of the valve seat body. The valve seat body axis and the tool body rotary axis are inclined relative to one another, so that a lubricant introduced can constantly build up a film of lubricant between the tool body and the valve seat face, and an elastic deformation ensures in the valve seat face, producing a relatively broad smoothing trace without significant indentation. The method and the apparatus are especially well suited to machining valve seat faces of fuel injection valves for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines.

Method and apparatus for producing rotationally symmetrical valve seat faces of high surface quality in valves

A fuel injection valve for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, in particular for direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, has a magnet coil, an armature that can be moved by the magnet coil in a linear stroke direction toward a first return spring, and a valve needle joined to a valve closure element. In the linear stroke direction, the armature engages positively on the valve needle. In the opposite direction, the armature is freely movable independently of the valve needle toward a second return spring. The armature is bearing-mounted on the valve needle by way of at least one slide bearing having several balls.
