A device and a method for manufacturing an item of packaging for a group () of smokable articles (), in particular cigarettes, having a wrapping, preferably an inner wrapping, of, in particular, a thin packaging material, such as paper, tinfoil or the like, in which a material web () of the packaging material is severed into individual blanks () and in which the article groups () to be wrapped are in each case wrapped with the individual blanks (). Flavoring and/or aromatic portions () for the smokable articles are applied to the packaging-material web (), which flavoring and/or aromatic portions (), after application, are at least in regions reduced in their height by a processing means, preferably in that they are spread flat and/or pressed flat by the processing means ().

Method and device for producing a package for a group of smokable articles

The invention relates to a valve particularly for transferring small portions of glue onto folding tabs of (cigarette) packs. A closing element () of the valve is actuated by different elements, that is to say, is moved between the open and closed positions, on the one hand by two permanent magnets () arranged a short distance from each other and having aligned poles such that the closing element is permanently kept in the closed position by the permanent magnets (). On the other hand, an actuating element, which is configured as an electromagnet (), acts to move the closing element () into the open position in a controlled way by overcoming the closing forces. The closing element () is designed in a particular way, that is to say, with channels extending along the outside in the longitudinal direction for the medium or the glue.

Valve, particularly glue valve

The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for producing packs, in particular cigarette packs, from blanks (), wherein individual regions of a pack blank () are adhesively bonded to one another and, if appropriate, to one or more separate blanks () by the pack blank () being provided with individual portions of glue () by means of a valve or a group of valves () and blank regions which are to be adhesively bonded together subsequently being held or pressed on one another, wherein the individual portions of glue () are applied to the blank regions by means of the glue valve () or the group of glue valves (), and/or wherein a control and/or regulating device () automatically controls and/or regulates the size or quantity of the respectively produced portion of glue (), which size or quantity is produced by the at least one glue valve () during an individual valve opening cycle, as a function of at least one parameter.

Method for producing cigarette packs

In order to treat cut tobacco so as to loosen and homogenize the same, a tobacco stream () passes through a plurality of processing stations (), in the region of which the tobacco is loosened, during transportation, with the aid of different processing arrangements. The tobacco stream or main stream here is divided up into a plurality of smaller sub-streams during treatment.
