A cooking device is for cooking food on a support (e.g. in a basket) within a cooking chamber. A required cooking time is determined based only on the time-evolution of the cooking chamber temperature and a power of the heating device. A first, less accurate, estimate of the required cooking time is determined within a first period, e.g. 90 seconds, of the turning on of the heating device and a second, more accurate, estimate of the required cooking is determined later, but e.g. within five minutes of the turning on of the heating device.

Cooking device and cooking method

The present application relates to a cooking apparatus () comprising a cooking chamber (), a basket () disposed within the cooking chamber () to receive food () to be cooked, a heating element () disposed above the food basket () for heating air flowing out from the food basket (), an air circulation system () for circulating the heated air upwards within the food basket () and a filter element () disposed between the food basket () and the heating element (). The filter element () is spaced from the heating element (). The filter element () comprises an air-permeable meshed structure for retaining particles contained in the air flowing out from the food basket (). The food basket () comprises an upper opening (), and the filter element () extends entirely over the upper opening ().

Cooking apparatus with filter element

An air-guide member () for guiding an air flow (AF) is provided for in a food preparation chamber of a cooking device that uses air flow (AF) to prepare food ingredients. The air-guide member () includes a plurality of air-deflecting arms () arranged symmetrically and extending in a horizontal plane (P) between an inner part (IP) and an outer part (OP) of the air-guide member (). The air guide member configuration allows for directing the air flow upwards and more evenly between the outer part and the inner part of the air-guide. The food ingredients can thus receive a flow of hot air having a more uniform air pressure distribution, which results in a more even cooking of the food ingredients.

An air-based fryer apparatus () includes a shield () for use in a cooking apparatus (), the cooking apparatus having a food preparation chamber () to receive a food support (), a system () for circulating a flow of hot air inside the food preparation chamber () and a heating element () to heat at least the circulated air. The shield (), disposed between the heating element () and the food support (), comprises a plurality of inclined surfaces () and a plurality of apertures () between the inclined surfaces () through which the flow of hot air can pass. The inclined surfaces () block a direct line of sight through the apertures () in the shield () from the heating element () to the food support () to prevent air flowing from the food support () to the heating element () through the apertures without being deflected by the inclined surfaces.

A modular sieve () for a juicing apparatus is disclosed that comprises a first module () comprising a pattern of first protrusions () having first edge regions (); and a second module () comprising a pattern of second protrusions () having second edge regions () for adjoining neighbouring first edge regions when the first module is engaged with the second module, wherein each first edge region and an adjoining second edge region delimit a plurality of apertures () for passing juice. A juicing apparatus including such a modular sieve is also disclosed.
